I have just switched form a pair of ist split fins to a set of turtles the turtles are much better for doing a frog kick. But I will say this if you are not doing a frog kick the split fins work good lots of power. I can tell the difference while doing a surface swim my legs did not get as tired...
Just wondering what everone is using to plan their dives? I am considering switching from Vplanner to the Gap because it allows the addition of deep stops which from what I understand reduces your time spent at 20 and 10 feet. :D
When I first got into diving I bought a used Dry suit regs and bcd for $1000. This was good enough for the first year then I upgraded with to another dry suit and better regs both used with no problems. Which I still use. The down side is you have no warrenty but you pay at least half of retail...
I dive in water temps around 45F all year and have never had a problem. Scuba pro does make a kit which can be installed for cold water conditions I can not remember what it is called.
My feet used to get really cold until put some thermal insoles into them. I also switched to a bigger fin which allows more air into the boot and possible better circulation aswell.
I Dive a Bare Trilam suit and I is a bit of a struggle to get it on but once on its good. I have heard that some people wear a thin wet suit for thermal protection. It sounds to me like your under garments are too loose.
Cold dark and deep what more could you ask for? Lots of forthought and planning a must. What kind of gloves were you two using? I think I will go with three finger mits. Where on the the wreck did you guys dive most of the time? The coldest I have been in is 43F and that was cold 38F must be...
I have double PST 120's big and heavy but not as big and heavy as my buddies Faber LP 108's. Have to use 10 lbs to stay down once the tanks drop to 1000 psi. Even if you can not get a full fill, at 3000 psi you have 103 cuft in each tank.
Thanks for the information I think it may be a internal problem with the camera its self. I installed two new batteries and the charge indicator is still reading dead will have to get it checked out.
I just bought a sea and sea 750G camera. It came with two Duracell AA batteries they did not last very long. The manual recommends using nimh batteries so I went and bought a set of rechargeable AA's. Charged them as per instructions but the battery life moniter is indicating that the batteries...
Good luck I bought a used dive right hid canister light. Bulb shorted and blew the ballist I looked around and could not find a source for either. The replacment parts would have costed $100 less than a complete new light from dive right. Ended up buying a new light. One word of warning the...
When I first got mine double 120's I used pick them up and carry them by lifting with one arm on the bottom of one tank and rapping the other around like a hug. This worked until I pinched a nerve in my elbow causing my left forarm and hand to go numb not good news after a dive. I thought I was...
I have PST 120's doubles they have round bottoms they will stand if you leave the boots on. Sure makes it easier getting them in and out of my car rest them on the bumper then take the harness off then tip them back and in. With round bottoms they would slide all over the place plus the plastic...
The s600t or the aluminum version of the same reg are not recomended for high O2 mixtures. One or both have a coating which can react with oxygen and cause problems.
I am looking forward to diving her this summer. Looked at some good movies on the net and have read the book Dark Desent good book, but I am looking for some first hand accounts from people who have dove on her. Vis water temp cold but I am used to diving in 5 to 10`C water. What about the...
