    Nekton Belize a big disappointment

Hello to everyone, My name is Nelson Riollano and I’m one of the captains for Nekton Diving Cruises. I normally don’t have time and/or regular internet access to be able to read, let alone respond to forums such as this one since. I just happen to be on vacation for another few days before...

    Crappy ScubaPro Dealer "Advice"

ddown, would you happen to know what the LDS charges for non-SP service? Is the price the same as your MK16 service? You might know this already but SP's policy is that if you are the original owner and get your equipment serviced at it's regular intervals, the only thing you should have to pay...

Tank suggestions for new tech diver...to be.

I have several suits. I guess I would wear AT LEAST a 3mm suit or a 5mm. A dry suit is in my short term plans.

Tank suggestions for new tech diver...to be.

In the next month or so I'm planning on beginning my Adv. Nitrox and Deco procedures courses with a long-term goal of getting my Trimix cert. I've asked around and had several suggestions on recommended 'doubles'. LP 104's, Pressed steel E-series 100's (working pressure of 3442), and HP 100's...

    Dive Operator in Pompano

Try http://divepompano.tripod.com/index.html. I've been diving with Capt Randy for the last 4 years. It's a very comfortable and safe 6-pack. I've tried a couple of others in the area but he is my favorite by far. Nelson

    Recommendations for Fort Myers

Unless you are familiar with Gulf diving I would recommend the drive to Fort Lauderdale. It's only about 2 hours 15 minutes and the water is warmer and clearer. I have several suggestions for operators if you are interested in the Fort Lauderdale dives. Nelson

Help w/ 1st setup- Scubapro or Apeks?

About 6 months ago Scubapro restructured their prices. As for the MK25/S600, I have 4 of them. I haven't used Apeks but I've been using SP and servicing them for 3 years. I would choose them over most Genesis, Oceanics, Sherwoods, and Mares regs. Yes, you'll pay a little more. But in...

    Mona Island, Puerto Rico

Hi, I dove Desecheo and loved it. Spoke to a business asso that was hired 5 years in a row to take photo and video of Puerto Rico's topside and underwater sites for the Puerto Rico tourism council. He said he thought he had dived almost every nook of PR and said that his favorite was...

    Nekton Cay Lobos trip

Hi everyone, In my opinion, the diving in Cay Lobos is great. I've done the trip at least 6 times. I'm one of the Captains. What do I have to compare to it? Red Sea, Puerto Rico, Okinawa (Japan), Australia, Guam, Hawaii, Pago Pago, Wake Island, and most of Florida. I can't say I've dove...

Help Needed! - UWATEC Smart Recall

I'm reading a lot of questions and 'opinions'. Personally, I just want (and have) my computers (Com and wrist) replaced. I would suggest calling 1-800-GOSCUBA and asking for Eric. He's the person assigned to the recall at Uwatec USA. He's been very helpful with me. Good luck. Nelson

Who has got their UWATEC SMART Computer back?

I sent Uwatec a Smart Com and a Smart Wrist. I got them back in 5 days. I mailed it 2-day express and they sent it back the same. A close friend got his Smart Com within 5 days also. I called Uwatec and spoke to Eric. He confirmed that they had replacements in stock at the time of my...

    Reliability of Magazine Equipment reviews?

Scuba Diving magazine does make a lot of money from their advertisers (equipment manufacturers). But let me also tell you from the point of view of someone closely associated with dive manufacturers. The thought from dive manufacturers about their reviews is that "you have to take the good...
