Never bothered to make the trek up to Nubble but you got me scratching my head. I can't think why something like these https://www.yaktrax.com/product/walk# wouldn't work like a champ. Slip them on over your boots, take them off and stash in a pocket when you're bobbing in the water. Lather...
We're headed to the Nortada on Sept 11th. We normally dive in New England and ALWAYS wear hoods and gloves and full 7 mm suits or drysuits. The water around here is in the mid 50's once you get below 40-50 feet and colder below that, so we're pretty used to the cold. That said, I like to be...
Hey Decapod,
I've never used anything other than a regular catch bag. What do you use as a catch bag specific to scallops and where did you get it? I can see where something thicker and more wear resistant would be a good idea but haven't ever seen anything that I thought would be better than...
You're welcome to come out on my boat whenever we go (if there's room). The boat is in the Fore River in Weymouth, not the Cape, so you would need to get yourself up to Boston. But the diving is more varied up here, more rock, less sand.
PM me.
Dove there about 5 years ago one chilly March morning. Some jackwad sat off a ways and watched us walk into the water, then drove over and busted in the rear window of my pals wagon and the passenger side window of my truck. I don't remember if John lost anything to this POS but he stole my...
Finding someone to do the job isn't the issue. I know ton's of people who could replace the zipper. The thing is, the zipper doesn't need to be replaced, it's just fraying nylon threads that are getting into the teeth. If I can melt the nylon and seal the edge the problem will be gone.
Hey all,
My dry suit zipper has been fraying at the edge of the fabric and threads are getting caught in the teeth and causing (potential) problems. I want to take an electric cautery iron and VERY carefully melt the edges of the seam. Other than the obvious potential problems, i.e. setting...
Yup, that was me. I thought I was good and far enough away from you, I came in real slow and watched for bubbles but about ten minutes after we dropped the hook one of your guys showed up about 100 yards off my starboard side. I don't believe he was anywhere near me when I stopped but that...
That wreck is always a fun dive. I haven't been out there for a good 4 or 5 years, my last time was also on Daybreaker. Never had a bad dive on that boat. The Pinthis sure is showing her age, I can see how much has changed just from your (as always) excellent video.
There as a wolf fish...
That's too bad. We always did well there, but like I said, I haven't lived down there in 8 years and there are too many spots between Boston and Plymouth to justify burning that gas so I haven't been back.
We went up to your area last summer and had a hell of a time splashing in and around...
There used to be a TON of ghost pots around there, but I haven't lived down there in 8 years or so. You were probably pretty close to that area around the #6 buoy I was talking about. We used to clean up out there, never maxed out but never skunked either. I agree, pulling bugs out of ghost...
