I use the Pro-Ear in cold water , I find it helps me . It has it's own specific hood to accomodate the ear pieces. I have also used it in "warm" water , keeping in mind I live in WI, not FL. Enjoyed the fact I could equalize very easily. Placebo? I think not
I too had issues with trim in a dry suit . I took the weight I used for wetsuit diving , put that in the B C , put the "extra" on a belt , seemed to work out and I was still within the capacities for the B C.
Sorry , cant offer help . Just want to wish you luck in the race.I have been a volunteer for the swim portion here in WI for the last 8 yrs and know what you face . Good Luck and be safe
Since I live in WI , my dive gear includes a chainsaw with a 24" bar. I dont mind ice diving but wont go out of my way to do it. A while back I built a portable warming house (read ; ice shack) when there is enough ice I pull it out with the ATV. Its big enough to have the hole in the floor and...
Has anyone gone out with Loves Park Scuba? My big issue was always the cost of the trip. Seems like Murphy's Law always interviened just when I was able to go. Can these dives be done wet since I quit dry diving ?
I had trouble with the mucus build up as well. I went to an Ear Nose and Throat specialist , he immediatly reccommended a netti pot. Also told me I really didn't need those expensive rinses , just use warm water and add about a teaspoon of salt , mix and use. Can be adjusted to your comfort...
another trick is to get some knee high nylons. they help alot with the feet . If you choose to , you can move them to your hands for the rest .A friend has one and has come up after a 30 minute dive with parts of him still dry. Dont give up .
I dive in Wisconsin and 3 - 8 ft is decent viz , when you cant read your gauges it is time to get out. If we have 25 ft viz , we are not in WI anymore.
Sorry Bob , cant make this weekend , my daughter has a horse show. Cheddarchick where did you find those guys ? Last time Kyphur and a bunch of us were up there there were no bass OR crayfish to be found.
Welcome . My question is , how well do they work with a denture wearer? Currently with a standard mouth piece on my Blizzard and a drysuit hood the reg seems to push on the lower denture causing shift and even more fatigue. Have you done any "experiments" with denture sufferers ? If not , I...
I have the Pro QD with over 100 dives on it . I have used several different weight configurations i e; hard vs. soft , one weight in each pocket ( 5 lb hard) and have never had an issue. The buckles still lock in with an audible click and dont move after.
I picked up my first tank when I found a reg for sale. Last tanks I got have history , found 2 L P 120 , a L P 95 . They were destined to be put out in the field and shot with a rifle to see if they would explode, Talked the guy out of them for $50 for all three. The 120's were brand new, one of...
I have gone to the local sporting goods store and found 3 mm gloves , usually very cheap as opposed to dive gloves. These are made for sportsman and seem to take a considerable amount of abuse. Besides you can buy 4 or 5 pair of theses Vs. 1 pair of dive gloves. Hope this helps...
