Hi all.. Bruce here.. Im living in santa barbara and looking to see if there are any guys or girls around here to dive with.. I moved back to the coast a bit ago and my old dive buddies have moved .. Would be fun to do some beach dives and or explore other ideas... I figure most would want to...
Another way to go is a 7/5 mil suit then get a full lavacore suit to go under... The lavacore is 1.5 mil but is as warm as a 3 mil and is neutrally buoyant (no need for extra weight)..This way your modular... If its warm-- your 7/5 will be more then enough(i actually go with a 5mil)-- if its...
I dont get it.. why go sideways.. Put the 1st stage back down.. put the Hp hose in the other port(run under left arm).. separate the lp hoses so they are father out and dont have that bend.. Go under the right arm to streamline the hose to the 2nd stage... and have your inflator hose come...
Joeri... I dive in so cal.. Though its been pretty cold.. About the same as jphouse2... Was out at catalina and dive a few dives on the northern part and was lowish 52F water lower down (i think-- was about a month ago i went).. As for my undersuit-- i actually like to run a little cool cause i...
Depends on water temps.. I was in low 50's in my new bare sb system suit with only the underwear first layer on.. I could feel the cold but i wast cold.. Though i like to run a little cool anyways.. Your GOING to need some sort of layer just to protect your skin from the rubber of the suit...
Well got a few dives in on my new SB... Have to say-- so far-- love it.. Very streamlined... Great flex and comfort... Im back and forth on pockets.. I dont really carry much-- so for me they would just be extra drag... If i was going to go do something i needed pockets for-- id just use a...
I was just about to come in and say this is all moot-- cause TN is getting his suit from DiveRightINScuba.. And i know mike will take good care of him..
ScubaSteve really hit the nail on the head.. The thing is-- regardless if your spending 1k or 10k on a drysuit-- IT NEEDS TO FIT!!!... Not only does a ill fitting drysuit make for a less enjoyable time(more drag- heavier-clunky)-- but it also leads to potential buoyancy and safty issues... If...
well i just got a bare sb system suit.. No class-- just played in the pool and got it in about 10 mins to get the basics-- and before to long i felt fine with all the things you need to learn.. If you can find someone who has the padi drysuit video-- its a good watch.. Lets you know the...
I was able to mount the dss weight plates to my oms plate np... The holes on the side of the plate lined up perfectly-- got a washer so the head of the bolt didnt go through the holes on the bp---- tightened them down with a little bit of removable locktight(not sure if needed but whateva) and...
well to be honest--- no.. But i was thinking it would be nice to not have to deal with boots while diving in such warm water... So just wondering what others use..
Hey all.. Heading to png on wed... Wondering what the best fin for a warm water trip like that would be.. Full foot fin? Boots and my split fins? Any advice would be great..
If its a older dump --- there might be a few things going on.. Dirt in the valve-- muck-- stuff to keep the suit from venting correctly or as easy as it could.. 2nd part is-- if its a older dump-- the new ones are going to be lower profile.. They arnt that expensive and now is a good time to...
I didnt read any of the reply in this thread-- so if im being redundant-- oh well....
First off ill say--- get a back plate and wing(like everyone else has said)... The reason they are nice is
a. you take weight off of your belt -- cause the plate weighs around 6lbs... Plus you can add weight...
Another thing to try is the lavacore suit-- as a undergarment... They seem a bit thinner--very stretchy-- and dont add any positive buoyancy(they are neutral).. Plus you can use them as a wetsuit if you go to the tropics.. Im heading to png in november and am going to get a lavacore setup...
Didnt read all the replies.. But lavacore suits are supposed to work great as undergarments for dry suits.. Warm---and, if you get a leak--- they are designed to be thin wetsuits-- so they will dry out fast.. Full suit would cost you 199$_-- so pretty cheap.. LP sells them-- so you can take a...
Lemon hit it right on the head... The directions say to zip up the suit and put a few drops of lube on the end.. That is all you needed to do.. Of course do you think i followed the directions--- nooooo lol.. I waxed my tzip--- but am thinking from now on im going to be a good boy and do what...
nope.. i dont agree with that at all vista. The difference is between permanent and temporary float/line.. Temporary line is for private use only.. Once that line is left permanently-- it becomes part and property of the park-- hence part of the state-- use for all tax paying citizens using the...
