i use a second LP hose too, 26” long and clipped to the D-ring on my left waist. That way I can keep the SMB, spool, and line well out in front of and away from me.
Always a surprise the first time that happens! You never even know they're behind/over you until there's a flash over your shoulder and the little fish you were watching disappears!
There are certain vendors who I’d rather not ignore any more posts from too. It would be nice if we could just opt out seeing any activity from particular forums.
Understanding something of the physics and physiology of inert gas absorption is important, but I see no indication that "teaching the tables" provides that. They were a necessary way to summarize a lot of data prior to the advent of PDCs, but using them is a simple rote process, not a lesson in...
I was at the Red Sea in March in 2019 and found it to be cold with not much fish life around. Getting there wasn't much of an issue. The Maldives have a great reputation and I had a trip booked for this spring until I started researching the flights and found that with the various layovers they...
They seem to think that microbubbles from previous dives interfere with gas exchange at the alveolar level enough to at least partially invalidate the dissolved gas models, but as far as I can see have referenced no actual research to support that assertion. Dr. Mitchell, OTOH, did summarize a...
If you're still "flailing around too much" with your arms I'd leave the camera at home for the time being. You have more important things to think about.
You could repeat that dive again and again and always have the 12.5 minute and faster compartments clear after 75 minutes, but that doesn't mean that the model is ignoring the inert gas build up in the slower compartments, just that it takes more repetitions for them to come into play...
