Good results on CO levels in Cozumel scuba tanks

It's probably not as bad as you think. Granted, 3-phase is not installed anywhere, but its available. You just need a contact at CFE because the help desk at CFE is generally not helpful. We are installing a compressor of our own this week and working with my CFE contact I gave them a list of...

    Ambient Diver Cozumel welcomes Martin

Best of luck in any future endeavors, Chuck! Just as a heads up to anyone interested: Martin, the Divemaster in the title of this post, is now employed by Salty Endeavors. To be fair he joined us back in April, and we are very thrilled to have him as part of our team.

100 or 120cf tanks in Coz?

Salty Endeavors owns a dozen AL100's in both air and 32%.

    Crazy King Burrito

This is not the first shop in the USA for them. It's not the local owners but rather clients of theirs which have purchased a franchise license from them. Here is the Arkansas announcement from a day or two ago - According to social media they are already in Fort Collins Colorado, 3 locations...

Finding a (Best) Dive Op in Cozumel

115hp is small. I wouldn’t call it a fast boat. Maybe “quick” haha. Most boats the same size are 150-200hp or two 110hp.

Finding a (Best) Dive Op in Cozumel

Also worth noting that the Ranger boat does not have marine park permits. It’s illegally operating in the park.

    Cozumel Lionfish Hunting

Salty Endeavors does it by private charter only as we need to head north to do so. No hunting in the Marine Park unless park certified (aka no tourists). And pretty much 99.9% of dives in Cozumel are in the Marine Park unless otherwise agreed upon ahead of time. So no, you won't be able to...

    Vap pens?

I've had my clients get caught in both Cozumel and Cancun over the past year. They relay the story to me in some cases. It will cost you bribe money. Start at $100 and be quick before multiple agents enter the picture. They are searching because its easy money for them.

Trip Report Cozumel Sept ‘22 Trip Report-Westin/Salty Endeavors

Unless otherwise agreed upon, all dives are in the Marine Park. Pick up is 7:50am or 1:40pm daily. From the Westin on our fast boats, to Colombia Reef, you are looking at about 1 hour boat ride, maybe less pending sea conditions.

    Hotel near Marina?

If you are staying downtown, Salty Endeavors can get you from the downtown public piers so you can avoid shuttles or taxis. We pick up at over 30 piers on island, so no matter where you stay you are not far from the pier. There are also several nice hotels and vacations rentals north of town...

Trip Report Cozumel Sept ‘22 Trip Report-Westin/Salty Endeavors

We have 3 boats, but all will require you to backroll from the boat. Ulternatively, we can lower your equipment into the water, have you slide over the edge, and then gear up in water. Otherwise I think you'll have to taxi to an operator. I am not aware of any of the larger boats that would...

Trip Report Cozumel Sept ‘22 Trip Report-Westin/Salty Endeavors

Kooben is my favorite pasta on the island outside the specials of Buccanos. The price is unbeatable. But I always get it delivered so I can enjoy dining in AC and bug free :) We own 5 analyzers - one for each boat, one for the shop in the harbor, and a spare ready to go for replacement or...

    Favorite operator for sidemount

I am not aware of any operator in Coz that specializes in sidemount dives. We have had them on our boats in the past. One of our regulars dives single tank sidemount. I think the catch is no matter who you choose to dive with you'll be subject to the same policies as the single tank divers -...

Looking for operator who does advanced night diving trips in Cozumel.

That is not something we have done previously, but I would be willing to do it for you provided we have enough divers to fill the boat or you are willing to rent a private charter. Alternatively, check out Robert Stansfield and his Blackwater diving. It is only one dive, but its extremely...

    Local News

This is very close to my house, and I am very much looking forward to it. Sort of boggled my mind that we have not had a public one yet given how much jungle space we have on the island. Politics give too much attention to tourists and not enough to locals, in my opinion. Granted, the name is...

They have been here for a good while, but have kept it under the table in operations. You've been able to buy drugs in Cozumel for decades, so yes the cartel has been here for decades, too. Recently, however, they have felt more empowered to operate above the table. As a business owner here...

DC that pick-up at El Cantil

We can always stop ashore as needed, you just need to ask our Captian. But the stop would not be for 60 minutes. You get about 20-30 minutes or so and then the boats need to motor to the upcoming divesite. Most beach clubs charge for toilet use nowadays. You also are not permitted to use their...

Dock fees have jumped the shark at the Cozumel Palace

The Cozumel Palace dock fee has been waived. There is no longer a fee to use the pier for any operator. No charge at all. We have been back to picking up our divers at their pier since mid-July with no fees. I guess they learned it wasn't a profitable move.
