Unresponsive diver taken to Catalina chamber - San Pedro, California

Very sad to lose a friend. She will be missed. It is also very sad to see a thread where we are mourning the death of a friend being hijacked by people slandering a boat or a company. RIP my friend, you were always filled with smiles and made my day better when we were together.

    BP/W Advice

This is the best decision you have ever made. As far as weighting is concerned, an aluminum plate is good because it is easy to fly with, but I still prefer a stainless steel plate when I dive because I don't like carrying as much weight and it cuts down on that. That wing would have plenty of...

    Uwatec Smart Tec

There are ways to do this. Her transmitter will not send info to two different computers, but you can hook up another wireless transmitter to her first stage so her pressure is sent to both her computer and yours. I have a friend that does this with his wife here in LA. Since your computer...

    Can't breathe in cold water

A good way to practice this as well is to fill your sink or bathtub up and put some ice in there to make the water extra chilly. Use a snorkel without your mask and it will help you get used to the feeling and help prevent over breathing. David

    Computer vs tables

it's not about your computer having a problem or not. It's about being aware of what's going on during your dive. You seem a little experienced to be telling divers to rely solely on their computers. David

    Computer vs tables

That's too bad, I'd rather be a thinking diver.

    Computer vs tables

What Lynne is saying is not that it is more accurate to use mental calculations than a computer for depth averaging. That is definitely not the case. What she is saying is that as a DIR diver it is important to use your head instead of simply relying on a computer to tell you what to do...

    Poseidon Regs and DIR

it doesn´t, i mispoke and changed it. Why would you want to have a limit on breathing your gas? If you are in an emergency situation and breathing down your tanks, and the last 500 psi doesn´t read all that accurately from your preassure gauge anyway, why would you want to have to worry about...

    Poseidon Regs and DIR

As far as I understand, DIR gas planning actually does use the last 500 PSI, but only if you´re sharing air which is when you would need a functioning reg the most. Correct me if I´m wrong, but a reg failing with 200 psi seems to be a major problem for DIR´s reason for saving the last 500. David
