A good way to practice this as well is to fill your sink or bathtub up and put some ice in there to make the water extra chilly. Use a snorkel without your mask and it will help you get used to the feeling and help prevent over breathing. David

it doesn´t, i mispoke and changed it. Why would you want to have a limit on breathing your gas? If you are in an emergency situation and breathing down your tanks, and the last 500 psi doesn´t read all that accurately from your preassure gauge anyway, why would you want to have to worry about...

As far as I understand, DIR gas planning actually does use the last 500 PSI, but only if you´re sharing air which is when you would need a functioning reg the most. Correct me if I´m wrong, but a reg failing with 200 psi seems to be a major problem for DIR´s reason for saving the last 500. David
