    Question About Merida

I've been diving in Cozumel for many years (I usually dive with Deep Blue). I never tire of the lovely reef diving, and look forward to occasional advanced dives like Punta Sur and Barracuda Reef, etc. But my non-diver wife just read about a new Yucatan restaurant in Merida, and we're wondering...

Can anyone point me to my ideal scuba bag?

Yes, I see your point about identifiable scuba bags. Since I want the best of both worlds (backpack+carry-on), I think the Excursion may be right for me.

Can anyone point me to my ideal scuba bag?

So I purchased a Deep See Excursion Roller Backpack, and i think I've found exactly what I need. It's big enough to carry all of my warm water gear, including my fins. It has and extension pocket at the top, just to accommodate fins! I bought it from Divers Direct for $99.98 plus $4.99 shipping...

Can anyone point me to my ideal scuba bag?

Sorry, brain fart or copy-paste error : ( What I really meant was that the Cruise Quick pack doesn't appear to have backpack straps, which is what my ideal bag would have. I don't want anything big because I dive alone in warm water.

Can anyone point me to my ideal scuba bag?

RTee and Courier: The Mares Cruise X-Pack does look good to me. Leisure Pro lists it as "discontinued," but Mares still lists it on their site, so I wonder what's up with that? As for the Mares Cruise Quick Pack, I wonder about a mesh bag for airline travel? ---

Can anyone point me to my ideal scuba bag?

Here's what I want: - Backpack style - Closed, not mesh - Small enough for one set of warm weather gear - Long enough to hold my Scubapro Seawing fins I 've used an Oceanic backpack for the past 14 years but it no longer holds today's longer fins, and it's starting to fray. I love the...

    Mares Hybrid BCD

=== There is a Mares Hybrid "She Dives" model. If that's what you're talking about, I'd say the Mares Hybrid "She Dives" would be at least as packable as a Kaila.

West Palm Beach Diving in October

I dove with Splashdown Divers in Boynton Beach last year, and I enjoyed it a lot. Splashdown Divers - Palm Beach County, Florida - Scuba Diving Boats and Charters - PADI Scuba Diving Certification - Serving West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, Highland Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Florida...

    Mares Hybrid BCD

I recently received mine after 3 months of backorder, and it looks and feels solid. But my dive trip was recently cancelled, so I haven't used it yet. I hope to hell the weight pockets are secure after reading your post. I will say that inserting them requires a very firm push; more than I like...

Does the Mares Hybrid only inflate in the back?

I've had the Mares Hybrid MRS Plus on order since March, and they're backordered everywhere in the US. I even contacted Mares USA who apologized noting that there have been distribution issues, and that they should be available in mid-June. That's what I've heard every month for the past 3 months.

I even contacted Mares who apologized noting that there have been distribution issues, and that they should be available in mid-June. That's what I've heard...

    Hybrid BCD vs. Dragon

By the way, my dive shop spoke to Mares and told me the new Hybrid MRS Plus won't be available until some time in April.

    Hybrid BCD vs. Dragon

Not sure of the specific differences, since there are no detailed reviews yet. It looks as though the Hybrid is a bit less massive than the Dragon; I noticed that the sides wrap around lower under the arms, for example. It's my impression that the Hybrid is more portable. I would also be curious...
