    SB---Bears or Colts............

Woohoo! I won $400 on the final score in the office pool. It really didn't matter who won. (Oh well Ron maybe you will win next time when you are head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.)

    SB---Bears or Colts............

Go Bears! That's only because I went to school and played football with their defensive coordinator, Ron Rivera. I hope he get's another ring and the Dallas head coaching job. It's halftime but thing's aren't looking good for the Bears even though they are only two points down.

Warning for Monterey Divers (especially women): Beware of Fred

:D :no :rofl3: After reading this thread a few month's ago I've been on the lookout for Fred. Finally, I spotted him Thanksgiving weekend. At least I think I did. My buddy and I were cruising around the peninsula trying to figure out if we were going to dive or not. The first place we...

More experience = shallower dives ...

Longer air times with less DCS risk, more lsealife, better lighting, and shorter swims from shore, what's not to like? That is if you are a Pacific Coast Diver. However, jumping into the water from a boat and dropping to 100 fsw on the backwall of the Molokini Crater off Maui with 150+ vis is...

    "Old" scuba gear

I dive with a pair of IDI power fins from the 70's. They are still available from XS Scuba.

    Deep Sea Detectives

I once ate a raw scallop underwater! Man was it salty. I only watched the show a couple of times. When I first heard about it I had just finished reading Shadow Divers. I thought, hey, what a great idea for a show. Then I watched it. After two episodes I stopped looking for it. I got...

I'll be in Maui in less than a week!

I second that advice. However, I got chilled even with a 3mm wetsuit. A hood probably would have made the difference and I doubt with 5mm I would have been too warm.

The NEW Underwater Adventures of an OLD Fart…

I too gave up diving for an extended period of time. I pulled my 25+ year old equipment out last year and my boots, gloves, and IDI Rocket Fins are what I am using today. My wetsuit was functional but I had outgrown it (through the shoulders and chest).

    Another Great White at Monterey

Which also means more funding for White Shark research not to mention educating more people on White Sharks.

You heard it hear first! Another White Shark.

My inside source sure is. However, I haven't heard him say he was going to be in that particular tank.;)

    halfmoon bay

Most recreational divers avoid diving the White Shark/Red Triangle from Ano Nuevo, to the Farallons, to Bodega Bay. http://greatwhite.org/lo_frame_attack.htm There is an Elephant Seal rookery at Ano Nuevo and Sea Lion rookeries at the other two locations that the sharks like to feed on...

    Aloha Dive Simi is Closing

I'll have to check it out since it's only a mile away from my house! I've seen it and have been meaning go in there. I've only know it at as Scuba Schools of America. I hadn't noticed a name change.

    Need recommendation for Maui diving

I dove with Mike Severn's three days in a row last May. The boat holds 12 and they dive in groups of 6. They do two tank morning dives. During the three days I dove with them we dove at least one dive on Molokini's backwall. They provide a great pre-dive briefing on what you can expect to see...

Monterey Bay Aquarium White Shark 2006

Yet another uninformed opinion.:shakehead From the MBA website: Why White Sharks Need Our Help "Overfishing, trophy hunting, habitat destruction—all have contributed to a devastating decline in the white shark population worldwide. Here at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we're working to turn...

You heard it hear first! Another White Shark.

Yeah, isn't it a shame that the MBA adds to our understanding of White sharks? Isn't it a shame that the MBA released the last White Shark they had into the wild? Isn't a shame that millions of people will get educated about White Sharks when they visit the MBA? Shame on the MBA... Here's...
