    Tank tumbling

Last year someone posted on here in favor of dry tumbling. There was a general outpouring of "no way" "this is crazy" etc. After thinking about for several months, I have to ask: Why not? Does anyone have any real experience with it?

    Spare parts gear bag

In the past, I have used a scuba pro padded regulator bag to carry spare parts, nitrox analyzer, ip gauge, spare inflator etc. I would put in pull and pluck foam. This has worked ok, but the bag has bit the dust. Any suggestions for a method that might improve on this?

Been doing it for years, now I'm legal. Got my TDI Solo Diver cert from Jupiter Dive Center yesterday. The class was a lot of fun, diving was cold for this time of year. Cost was very reasonable.

    Tank tumbling/cleaning

Having a problem with rust. Tumbled clean, rinsed with hot, final rinse with hot water and inhibitor. Blew it out with clean air and set on the hot air dryer for a while. The tank is lined with light rust. What am I doing wrong? The only issue I can think of is it takes a while to empty the...

    Buoyancy Propulsion and Trim

Recently spent a few days in the Keys taking a couple of classes from "Netdoc". The first class was Pete's insane (his words on the web site) Bouyancy Propulsion and Trim. Now, I have 19 years experience and over 600 dives so I don't qualify as a beginner, but I always felt that buoyancy was...

    Wow! cost of gear

Over the years I have accumulated way more gear than I need. Due to some issues with insurance, I decided it would be a good idea to inventory my gear in case something happens. Including tanks, spare regulators, analyzers, back plate, wet suit, dry suit, fins, etc. I came up with $15,800.00...

    Tumbling basics ?

After filling the tank with media and tumbling it, what's the optimum method to empty the tank? Just did my first tank, it seems holding it upside down and tipping back and forth and adding water to swish out the last little pieces is tedious. Suggestions? Thanx

What's the actual effect on diving with a reg that has the wrong IP?

For example; if my reg has an IP of 110 (should be 135) does it breathe harder? Does it respond differently at depth? Does it respond differently at different tank pressures? And vice versa, if the IP is too high? I'm not asking about the effect on the equipment just how the diving/breathing is...

    transporting and securing tanks?

In the past, my pick up truck had a top on it so all I had to do was stabilize my tanks. My new truck does not have a topper. I will be going to the Keys in a couple of months with my gear, my tools (for a Hog class with Netdoc) and 6 100cf steel tanks. Looking for a way to secure and...
