Fantastic!
I'll be heading to St. Croix at the end of this July and just booked all my dives (16 dives over 4 days spanning morning, afternoons, and a couple night dives). I can't wait!!
Apologies... Just had to vent my elation....
But I'm still bummed about what to do on my last day...
I recently bought some used equipment off eBay to use on a 19cf pony I got earlier this year and now I'm not 100% sure how I want to configure it. (Of course I plan to have all the gear serviced over the winter before diving with it).
I'm wondering what recommendations SBers can make to help...
Simply put: I'm confused.
2 years ago, I purchased a Sherwood Avid 2004 BCD on-line for a very good price and had been diving with it just fine until last week when my gear bag was stolen while in the virgin islands. It was sold to me as a 2004 Avid w/ CQR1 weight-integration pockets. The...
I completed both my AOW and UW Nav specialty today over 3 dives (today; not overall)!! Just wanted to share since I'm really happy to be learning new things, trying new skills, and most important - just to be in the water!
I found doing the night dive for the last AOW dive to be very relaxing...

....100 ft down, 48f, 15 ft viz, AL80, 15 mins tbt.... In a nutshell... a bit scary...
Heh. I haven't hoovered like that since my first OW dive 3 years ago. Had no problems following the chain down or going back up and doing the safety stop with my buddy, but wow.. I was really surprised...
I know this is a thread asking for some trouble, but how many local shops offer free air fills? If your shop charges for air, how much is it to fill an AL80? Just wondering so I know what to expect when I'm out of my local area.......
In the end, the only actual charge to the LDS will be...
Last week I decided I wanted to try my hand at lobstering so I went and got the permit online and bought a dive bag, tickle stick, and measuring gauge. This past Saturday I got to try it out as a couple other people at the local shop's weekly free guided shore dives also wanted to go for bugs...
This past Saturday morning I had my first non-pro supervised dive and I figured I'd mention it and my reflections on it. Long story short for those with ADHD: I had a great time!
My LDS offers free guided shore dives every Sat. during the warmer season and I showed up this past Sat morning...
Lately my girlfriend has been asking about trying scuba diving because she sees how much I enjoy it and would like to try it because she thought snorkeling back in January in Mexico during our cruise was really cool.. Problem is she is an insulin-dependent diabetic and obviously this is a...
Just thought I'd post my first experience doing a night dive tonight. My local dive shop offers up weekly Wednesday night dives during the summer months, so I thought I'd use the opportunity to try out a night dive and see what its like as I realized that I really love diving and want to try as...
I'm currently a PADI Scuba Diver who's heading out this weekend for my final two OW checkout dives but I'm having some issues with blowing air out of my nose in cold water and I was looking for any advice on how I might get around it?
Being in MA, my checkout dives are going to be from the...
