Scubalamp V6K 12000 lumen video lights

I've recently swapped from 2x Keldan Luna8's (the 5000lm CRI model) to the V6K Pro's (but got 4 :eyebrow: ) - overall I'm very impressed with them. They are wider - 110-120' compared to the 90' of the Keldan, so the immediate doubling of power isn't evident, but I do notice I'm getting more...

Anyone using a Panasonic GH4 Underwater?

I've gone full circle with my GH4 for wide angle underwater videography, from kitting it out with a 170mm dome and the 7-14mm and 60mm for macro - I'm now back with the 'kit' lens... Without doubt the 14-42mm (MK II) with the CMC and WWL is a powerfully versatile 'rig' One minute you can be...

    F1 and F2 buoyancy?

Howdy Graggs, Yes in the salty stuff! I use F1 for my Drysuit and F2s for my semidry (6.5mm) and also for any tropical diving in a shorty, type thing If drysuit - its got to be something Negative. Rich :)

    Underwater audio recording?

Which Full Face Mask do you have? Have you decided on the underwater Mic you will be using? I'm using an OTS Guardian with their D2 BuddyPhone - I've then got their in-water receiver Shop | Ocean Technology Systems This comes with a EO connector which you will have to drill and fit to your...

    Flying BA

I try and use BA when I travel with scuba gear. As said previously, there is NO additional/free allowance for diving/sport equipment. You get 23kg and thats it. However their additional bag policy is pretty good, another 23kg is like £55 each way. But the kicker for me, is their very generous...

Looking for a liveaboard to see sharks and other large animals in Januari/Februari

Big fish - you need to be heading to Socorro, New Mexico. Alas 2000€ won't touch it thou. What about Thailand? I saw Mantas, Sharks and Whale sharks the last time I went and it wasn't too badly priced either.

Diving Costa de Sol (Spain) - Gibraltar, Malaga or Marbella?

Tarifa diving is amazing if you like great underwater landscapes and rocky formations. Viz is normally very good (20-30m) Depths for most of the sites are 20m with Punta Marriqui down to 45m. Gibraltar if you catch the Frontier right is great for wreck diving, but visibility and current...

    Lens selection for GH4 video

Saves a fortune - if he is happy to share (I'm quite guarded with mine!) If you have used his camera a bit, I think you will be in for a bit of a disappointment with the GH4 and the lack of IBIS, its the one thing its lacking badly, so with that you really need to choose Panasonic lenses that...

    Canon XC10

Rubblish AoV for the lens, not very wide. Zoom barrel, may be an issue with a port for it. The 5 axis stabilisation is only available for FullHD - not 4k. High bitrate is All-Ultra, so actually pretty compressed (considering) Not a very well thought out camera, but due to it being a Canon, I'm...

    Voodoo

Howdy Seaseadee, If I'm understanding your correctly you just want to understand 'what to correct' not 'how to..' Given then you know how to use Color Director. The GoPro AWB when you first hit record, so if you can have something white ish when starting this may help a little. I really...

Liveaboard Dilemma: Red Sea, Thailand or Maldives

I've dived both the Red Sea (almost every year) and I've done the Similian Islands via a Liveboard in Thailand...a few years back. If my comments will help.. Thailand was much more scenic, the islands etc. Its truly beautiful. But it was mainly reef diving, we did do a Roll on, roll off ferry...

    White balancing/color correction problem

I think the type of filter is very important too.. I've tried PolarPro ones (on my old GoPro) and now using Magic-Filters ones (from Alex Mustard and Co) and the differences are outstanding. I think they spent a lot of time developing their our 'mixture' for the red as it really makes <30m...

Buy E-M5 or wait for E-M5II

Just to add to the thread... the E-M5II video is actually worse than the E-M1, which is surprising given the higher bitrates and ALL-I settings... Was actually looking forward to the E-M5II and seeing if Olympus could compete with the GH3/GH4 (1080) alas it appears not. The IBIS for video...

Handheld Primaries & DR RX8/LX20 Reviews

That is quite unusual, interesting to see it uses the same CREE XM-L2 modules as the above BX-1 and LX20. So should be quite bright (similar to the BX-1) I think the total packaging thou lets it down (form factor etc). Had the GoPro lights based on these, good build quality.

Handheld Primaries & DR RX8/LX20 Reviews

I've just ordered the BX-1, which with a single 18650 is 12,400Lux. Compared to the RX-8 (14,000) and the LX20 (20,000) seems a steal for the money.
