Please help my class project by taking this survey on diving

Thanks everyone for your help. I know these questions are around subjective topics - I really struggled with the questions, especially since this is the first Marketing class and not one of the research classes that go more in to doing proper surveys. I did a number of phone interviews with...

Can you help me with a class project on diving?

Thanks everyone for your help! I talked with some of the people in this thread. Because of the time involved in the interviews, I couldn't get to everyone. I used the information to help write a survey for the class project. I posted it under the Basic SCUBA discussion, but I want to make...

Please help my class project by taking this survey on diving

I am taking a Marketing class as part of a MBA program. For our class project, my team is doing a marketing plan for the local dive shop I teach through in the San Francisco Bay area. In addition to addressing how to better attract prospective divers, the project also addresses how to keep...

Can you help me with a class project on diving?

PM sent to both of you - thanks! Yes this is the marketing component of the MBA program I am in. The draft survey I am working on would (at this point) be applicable at a national level, so interviews from outside of Nor Cal are good and I look forward to talking to both of you, but I am...

Can you help me with a class project on diving?

Hey Divers - As a Marketing class project, I am doing a marketing plan for my local dive shop. I need to do more interviews of certified divers before finalizing if I will do a survey and what the survey will contain (it is best to do interviews before surveys). Would any of you be up for a 30...

    divemaster - instructor recommendations?

I did my PADI DM at the Anchor Shack in the East Bay (near Concord). It is a bit of a drive for you, but they appear to have a DM class coming up in July. You can see the schedule on their homepage (Anchor Shack SCUBA). I went on to get my instructor cert with them and teach there. Wallins...

Good dive shop in east bay?

The Anchor Shack in Pacheco (Concord/Pleasant Hill) is a PADI shop (I see you have PADI certs). I teach there and have my regs serviced there. The guy they send the regs out to for servicing has done a great job on my gear. Since you are a DM you might talk to Kevin or John about DM'ing...

Where should I go next (dive trip)

I would suggest a San Diego dive adventure. Do a morning charter to wreck alley, then do a 3 or 4 day Southern Channel Islands live-aboard trip. I did this last year, although the wreck alley boat canceled because of conditions...then we boarded the Horizon for a three day Southern Islands...

    Parking in Monterey

If you park at metered spots in Monterey where a change machine is not convenient, you may look in to getting a parking smart card - it is prepaid card for adding time on to meters. City of Monterey | Parking Division | Smart Parkcards From the website: Smart Parkcards ParkcardThe City...

scuba.com has them for $109.99. Underwater Kinetics Super Q eLED Rechargeable Light 12203 with reviews at scuba.com The light has a tight beam with no halo. I have used it during the day but not at night yet. Now I am more motivated to compare it to the Light Cannon. I would think...

Anyone try this one? Aoxing 150 lumen 100m LED dive light $79

I ended up getting the UW Kinetics Super Q eLed light. I am impressed...a 90 lumen tight beam and rechargeable lithium battery...and compact size. Super Q eLED Rechargeable Lithium Ion I intend to post pics of it compared to a Light Cannon just to give an idea of the beam.

    Aloha Nor Cal divers

Regarding the cold...I've recently been using thinner undergarments because I have been getting too hot in my dry suit while diving in Monterey. You can be warm in any water and you can be cold in any water...just gotta have the right type and amount of thermal protection for you.

Anyone try this one? Aoxing 150 lumen 100m LED dive light $79

I think that is the Raider III you are talking about? The Raider I uses three AA batteries and claims 4.5 hours burn time. So it must be drawing 500ma or so? Edit: It appears the Raider I is in the 80 lumen range? I think this is the same light...

Anyone try this one? Aoxing 150 lumen 100m LED dive light $79

What is the light/lumen output of the Oxychew Raider 1? They have the stats for the Raider III on their site, but all I see about the Radier 1 is it is a 3 watt LED head.

Anyone try this one? Aoxing 150 lumen 100m LED dive light $79

I am looking for a small backup/day light. I read the thread here about the Intova. I was looking around DealExtreme and found this: Aoxing 100m dive light....150 lumen and includes the 18650 battery and charger for $79: DealExtreme: $79.99 Aoxing 100M Waterproof Diving Cree P4-WC 3-Mode...

    Flashlight hacking - u/w conversion?

I am looking for a small backup/day light. I've read threads about a homebrew can light, but I want a non-can something small and powerfull...and probably 18650 powered. I was reading about the hack to the Intova 660 light in the Lights forum, but the current version has the LED glued in so...

    Saturday 10/18?

The over the counter stuff hasn't worked for me very well, so I've had to move in to the prescription stuff. On the prescription side of things there is the 'Transderm Scop' Scopolamine patch and Scopace. The patch last about 72 hours. Scopace is a pill form of Scopolamine...the Scopace web...

How many days are you spending at DEMA?

Edit: I should have made the title: How many days should a person plan for DEMA? I am curious how many days a person should plan for DEMA. I'm sure this depends on how many sessions a person is attending. I was originally thinking to spend two days with attending some sessions, but now I am...

    Wing-style BCs - novice questions

In addition to what TSandM posted, I would add the following based on my experience with the Pro QD I once owned: - The jacket BC tends to keep the diver a bit higher out of the water on the surface (edit: that is when you are vertical on the surface...didn't mean to imply about surface swims)...

Oxycheq Mach V and STA choice - Mini/Light/Soft?

I have the Mach V Extreme wing, which has the soft STA integrated in to it. If the separate soft STA you are looking at requires threading the cap straps through the slots in the backplate (which it probably does because that is how mine works) then keep in mind that it works better with 7.25"...
