How deep have you gone and why ?

200ft off Cayman on Trimix (19/35) with O2 deco. As stated above the giant sponges are astonishing... Catching the lights rays down the wall, accenting in a play of blue gray, against the sponges was worth the Helium.

Has anyone tried ScubaPro's MK 19?

Availability of the Mk19 is somewhat less than clear...at least to me. Any mention of the Mk19 disappeared from Scubapro's website late last year Further, my LDS enquired as to MK19 US availability, to which Scubapro US responded "the Mk19 is destined for limited release: specifically UK ONLY"

What scuba diving goals did you accomplish in 2007?

Let's see 2007: Got serious again about diving, went Tech - bought the requisite garage of gear.... Fortunately in the process found a couple of excellent tech instructors, which led to: IANTD: Deep Diver, Adv. EANx, Adv. Rec Trimix, Normoxic ; Cross Cert: TDI Trimix Stepped down to...

    Bringing Italy to America

Ahh yes Ferrari - might I point out that during their halcyon years (no pun) 2000-2004 with Schumi, it was the engineering team Schumi brought with him from Benetton in 1997 that led the turn around...and it took them nigh on 3 yrs to resurrect Ferrari. Otherwise there was a slight drought...

    Deep diving accident

DA - introducing Helium into the mix should enhance CO2 removal which should - at least viewed unidimensionally - reduce the risk of Oxtox... Granted if there's another mechanism involving Nitrogen that reduces susceptibility to Oxtox, they may well be offsetting...

    Bringing Italy to America

The Lucas/Triumph examples - whilst true of the 70's - don't do justice to current British engineering, herewith but 2 examples 1. Formula 1 Racing - dominated by Brits and British engineering: a sport that represents the leading edge intersection of computational fluid dynamics and real time...

    A question of etiquette

BarryNL - configuration is for open water Tech, and believe trade-off in this context is acceptable. With penetration, either wreck or cave, I'd reconsider. RJP - great idea, will adopt - appreciate the recommendation.

    A question of etiquette

Using twins, will run SPG "brass and glass" off the left post, with an AI comp off the right. Pros: 1. Redundancy of measurement. 2. With computer on left wrist - hands extended in front - I can readily monitor comp information, inclusive tank pressure, without adjusting trim. Further, I can...

Scubapro G250 V now in US site

LDS spoke with Scubapro North America today...apparently the Mk19 will NOT be coming to the US. Some bizarre rational that "the US already has a tech solution from scubapro" Curiously, it will be available in the UK and the UK alone - puzzles me that I've seen it on dutch websites...of...
