Wow, now that's a serious swim ... I couldn't find this posted anywhere, advance apologies for a possible repost.

Unfortunately, Internet Explorer Public Preview Beta 2 has some serious flaws working with ScubaBoard forum software. The primary concerns...
Luguna California, South Crescent Sand about 22 feet of water ...
I found a special prescription mask with special mask strap and a surprise on the side ... is it yours, it desperately wishes to be reunited with its sight-challenged owner.
Does anyone know the make and model of the fins with the long wisps on either side worn by the actor Jessica Alba in the recent movie Into the Blue?
... I searched Scubaboard and found the question got asked once in another thread on Jessica Alba but the question was never answered. I also...
Is this a two-spot octo or "juvenile" pacific?
Also is this a round ray, thornback ray, or pacific skate? (sorry no strobe, overcast, 10 foot of visibility, very grainy and green)
Round, Thornback, or Skate?
Thanks in advance.
I went diving the other night with a long time buddy (over 200 dives) and he brought along a friend, whom I'd never met. There is no need to embarass anyone here, so names left out of course. He was an experienced diver and came with an enriched air cylinder, DUI dry suit, and the usual fair of...

This is a shout out to all Laguna Beach Divers ... I found a Dacor Darwin Wrist computer while diving in Shaw's Cove. Please post if you lost your wrist computer in this location, so we can discuss your story (and computer details).
Scuba Folks (and Regulators),
My sincerest apologies for my very long absence ... but my extreme family hardships and drought are now over now ... and I'm finally very active again in diving. Even decided this time around to hooked up with a local club and drove around to reintroduce myself...
One thing I found interesting was how MHK made it clear that DIR is not pronounced "Der" or "Dur", I still catch myself saying that when reading posts on this forum or literature. He reminded all of us that it is an Acronym and as such each letter is mentioned D-I-R.
Just funny how sometimes...
Here here! Hoods off to our great leader KN for putting this new forum together and searching for and moving all the DIY stuff from the ancient (and not so ancient) past to get it started off right.
In the spirit of the new forum. I've discovered DIR diving for the first time in my life after...
Well I'm so excited the day is finally here. After many months of communication, reading (here on Scubaboard and the fundamentals manual), planning, and prep I'm off to get trained by MHK at Catalina island.
THANKS A MILLION to SPEEDSTER my new diving buddy here in So Cal who spent many hours...
In the DIR-F training videos on fin mechanics several of the kicks have 2 methods. The videos don't make the distinction really obvious to the untrained observer (me). But I think I've figured the main difference is they are showing knees together for the second method for frog kick 1 and 2...
I just returned from back to back Caribbean trips. I got a 3-fer tour of Negril Jamaica, Georgetown Grand Cayman, and Cozumel Mexico. My dad and I did 2 dives on each island. The first dive on Cayman and the first on Cozumel were both swim-through/Wall/80+ foot dives. Oh the joy and the rapture...
I finally lost (and fortunately found) my first piece of dive equipment. I was late for a dive this morning (alarm clock issues). The rule my buddies and I go by is wait 15 minutes then go, don't hang and get angry. When I arrived at the site their cars were locked and they were nowhere to be...
Hey, I've read that once you get bent you have a highter tendancy to get bent again. Then I've read once you've "cleaned out your system" the slate is washed clean and all returns to normal again. Any thoughts?
Thought I'd get a thread going here in Basic Scuba Diving.
There are several of these best/worst posts going on in the non-diving forum, and NDI's, while they include some scuba related stuff, they contain a lot of non-scuba stuff too. Let's keep this list strictly to diving related...
As a pro member my DVD set of 5 openwater dive modules just arrived - free (actually for 125.00 annual membership <lol>). I plugged in the first of the 2 disk set, and watched module one. I really have to laugh all over again at the guy in the in the mismatched hawaiian shirt and trunks.
The...
