Maybe not an exact answer, but good info here regarding the cv system and diving.

Why not book a liveaboard? We do exclusively liveaboard unless there is a place we really want to dive that only has a land-based operation (rare). Liveaboard diving is a whole level above land-based. We just completed our 35th liveaboard.
I recommend these two books (in this order):
See below (Edge and Mustard).
UW photography is completely different than above water photography. If you want great shots, you’re going to have to study and practice. You’re not going to get great shots (or even ok shots) if you hope to shoot in...
A deco stop can be triggered when it's not required??? How could you possibly know that? You're going to ignore a deco stop based on the assumption that it's not required? It may not be required by another computer, but that doesn't mean one is wrong.
And yeah, if anyone routinely drives...
You’re concerned with getting locked out if you violate a deco stop? Isn’t that like driving through red lights and expecting to not get into a crash? Why would you (or anyone) want a computer that allows you to violate a deco stop??
My wife and I each have 2 Sunnto computers: a Cobra 3 and a Zoop Vyper. We’ve each logged more than 1,000 dives with Sunnto and haven’t had a failure. I love their conservative algorithms. The wireless transmitters of the Vypers have never lost connection during a dive. We’ve done more than 35...
Pretty unnerving. While CO has no taste or smell, I think they ultimately did the right thing by aborting the trip. I hope you get a refund. The links below describe the only confirmed Scuba fatality from CO that I recall. I was on this boat a few month before the fatalities, and we all came up...
I'm selling two of these: one black and one blue. Both work perfectly. Black one has 210 dives, the blue one has 193 dives.
$125 each including economy shipping to anywhere in the US.
(Sorry, Suunto! I can't seem to edit the title!)
I also use clear silicone, but I just put it around the perimeter. I apply it with a toothpick. I've been using Dive Optx for at least 15 years and they work great as long as I silicone the perimeters.
Yikes! Amazing amount of information. Thanks!
My wife and I have been to Galapagos twice (going again this coming April - I hope the hammers will be there!!), Malpelo once, Cocos twice, and Socorro three times. They are all different and all pretty amazing IMO. Socorro is the most "beginner...
Can anyone tell me the process by which a US citizen gets a tourist visa for PNG? I was planning on getting it at the Port Morsby airport. I've understood that it was fast and easy, but now I'm hearing that it could be the opposite. Has anyone obtained one at the airport recently? I dove there...
It depends on what you are looking for. Crystal River Florida for the manatees, Tonga or the Silver Banks for the Humpbacks, or Holbox for the whale sharks are way up there on my list. They are all fantastic and you really can't do them on scuba.
I dove there on the Ocean Rover in 2012. It was an exploratory trip where we picked up local dive guides along the way and they took us to their favorite places. Overall, the diving was ok, but not on the scale of my experience in RA or Komodo. Some reefs were vibrant while others were rubble...
Well I suppose, if you experimented with just the right amount. As you say, it really goopy/sticky. By your method, I think you'd get a lot of excess that would be nearly impossible to wipe out. But if you used just a really small dot, it probably could work well. I never tried it. It's actually...
My wife and I have needed reading classes for more than a decade now. We have "cheater glasses" all over the house and use those inexpensive stick-on lenses in our dive masks. I stick them on per the directions (with a drop of water), then I apply a very thin line of clear silicone around the...
