    American Airlines Fare Sale

There are actually some good deals for this fare sale that I have found in September. Los Angeles to Freeport, Bahamas for $421 ($300 + taxes). Also found similar deals under $400 to cabo san lucas and some of the other places. I don't care much for american airlines either, but that's not...

Yeah, the Marriott was fantastic, but next time I would like to have my home base out of the west end..... and maybe get some of that elusive iguana soup. (already had the goat stew!)

    Curacao Pictures 12/20/08 - 1/1/08

yeah, I wore a full suit every dive... Except for that 1 snorkelling adventure at the Marriott. I usually wear a skin when snorkelling too... But foe some reason I rushed to the beach without it. Murphys law I guess! Anyway, it was quite interesting trying to get the kitchen to give me a big...

Catalina (Casino Point) Pics w/ SP-350

Hey Guys, Just a few pics from Catalina this past weekend. Only did 2 dives because I was an idiot and brought the wrong wetsuit! (3 mil instead of 7mil) Subsequently, I barely took any pictures. Still saw some big fish and a baby octopus that wan't too shy. (one picture which is out of...

Bahamas Pictures (Shipwrecks and Sharks) with the SP-350

Thanks for the compliment! I still fired the strobe... My thought was that in most pictures that the shark was close enough to have the strobe paint some of the colors back into the shark. The results might be very subtle, but worth a 'shot'.

    Key Largo Photos with SP-350

Yeah, my buddy uses double A's and his die out pretty quick... but he also uses the camera's internal flash, which doesn't help. It's pretty cheap over here for the charger and battery ($25 USD). It might be worth it to find a way to get it shipped to you over there...

Bahamas Pictures (Shipwrecks and Sharks) with the SP-350

actually i was in a 1mm wetsuit. (im not in any of the pictures from this trip) My dive buddy is a bigger guy and maintains his warmth, so he typically just wears a core warmer in anything over 80 degrees.

Bahamas Pictures (Shipwrecks and Sharks) with the SP-350

On all my pictures, I used custom white balance and shot in RAW mode. I shoot at ISO 50 or 100 for most of the pictures unless I was going to be going very deep. I have been going back and forth on shooting in aperature priority vs. shutter prority mode. If you choose any given picture in my...

    Key Largo Photos with SP-350

I used the rechargeable CR2V3 (or whatever the model number is) from radio shack. It lasts a long time, but i still recharge it every day just in case. It also helps that the flash is not being fired from my camera, but from my strobe... so that saves a lot of batteries too.

    Key Largo Photos with SP-350

Hey tollie, I shot RAW, then I did some quick adjustment to the levels and cropped a few of them a bit. But otherwise, no major work was done on any of them. -Todd-

That was also the warmest water I ever been in to date. 84 degrees at the surface, and maybe down to 82 at depth.

Bahamas Pictures (Shipwrecks and Sharks) with the SP-350

Hey Guys, We went to Nassau over the 4th of July to get some dives in and relax. We dove with Stuart Cove and did a shark dive one out of the 3 days of diving. Had I only known, I would have done the shark dive all 3 days! Very cool! As usual, the UW shots were taken with an Olympus...

    Key Largo Photos with SP-350

hey guys, Sorry I've been out of pocket up until now. Times like this I wish I worked for a scuba magazine, but alas my job seems more like office space. The strobe is an Ikelite DS-125. Really way more than I need, but I am hoping to eventually upgrade once i get the guts to put my...
