    Solo diving

Perhaps in a perfect scuba world, but not in this one. As for your other long post. ... Agreement is Optional ... Understanding is Mandatory I am curious ... have you taken a solo diver course or read the SDI manual?

    Solo diving

I did not say, or make the assumption, that Solo Diver courses (or any courses) are to be taught and never executed. The point I am making, and I suspect that you agree with, is that the course (specifically the instructor) teaches you certain skills - more accurately, the instructor confirms...

    Solo diving

Someone posts a legitimate question on a serious topic. There are some good responses and you have to jump in with comments like this. That is really very sad. What are you going to do next, delete the thread or just certain posts? Why not try reading and understanding instead of going...

    Solo diving

I think that you are missing the point. Perhaps all the ":rofl3:" have clouded your view.

    Solo diving

I disagree that offering a course encourages a certain type of behaviour or activity. There are all kinds of courses that teach all kinds of things. Just because they teach a skill does not mean that they encourage a certain behaviour. I agree that the skills taught in the course are...

    Solo diving

It looks like we were typing at the same time. If you prefer diving with others and are not interested in diving solo, then look into technical courses if you are interested in advancing your training. As mentioned above, talk to other divers and instructors. The topic of solo diving can...

    Solo diving

I don't know if any agency "encourages" it, but SDI has a course. They have a sub-forum on this board. SDI/TDI/ERDI - ScubaBoard There is also a Solo Diver sub-forum, but you have to sign up for it. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/solo-divers/

On Island Trip Report Bonaire 20 Feb - 11 Mar

Your daily diary entries are great, but hard to read given that we are expecting another 15 cms for tomorrow. Seriously, it sounds like you are having a great time. And now I have a craving for a gin and tonic ... and I don't drink gin.

Pinnacle Black Ice Drysuit: Mini Review

I like the attached boots much better than the socks. I had the boots on my Evo2 and got used to them. I find them much easier to deal with and more comfortable. Plus, they help me keep my trim (at least I think they do). I think it is a personal thing as I have spoken with people that...

New diver with ear problems (go figure)

I had the same issues when I first started diving. I have small eustachian tubes and also had a terrible time on airplanes. I tried all the usual suggestions and, while they helped, I still had trouble. It may sound strange, but what helped me was changing to a comfo-bite mouthpiece. My jaw...

I can't help you with the charging question, but I am curious about which light you purchased. I am in the market and am considering the LM 21W LED

Wife Got Me Off The Couch

Very nice tanks. I could not imagine ever watching the TV you have mounted above the one tank. As for age ... As long as you have no medical issues, I can't see why that would be a problem. I am 52 and plan to keep diving until I can't lug my gear into the water. Even then, I think I will...

    Weight placement

Have you tried releasing the weight from the pouches? I would think that you would be able to reach the bottom ones. I use XS scuba pouches that will take up to 5lbs each. Down south in a 3mm I use 4lbs on each band with an AL plate.

    Missing: complete singles set up

It is not clear where your friend got into this cab, but have you tried going back to this place to watch for it there. What about other places that cabs hangout waiting for a fare. I know that it is a longshot, but if your friend can remember what the driver/cab looked like it is worth a...
