    Reliability of Hoseless Computers?

Well, I see nothing here has changed.

    Reliability of Hoseless Computers?

Not really. I wore out 3 hoseless computers (batteries wore out) and two transmitters during my rec diving days and finally gave it up when the transmitter no longer worked. I had nothing to do with its reliability other than making sure it was rinsed. I've seen newer hoseless units that did not...

    Safety stop deco bottle

A Captain who knows how to setup and run a charter boat! Well said. To the OP, you don't have a "deco" bottle or a "decompression stop". You have a tank staged for emergency use or for a safety stop. MD

Gettin kind of testy, aren't we? I'll do better than that Tech, why don't you just deactivate my account so I can't annoy you any more.

    Newsletter Spam

Thats true, and its still unchecked. There was not, AFAICR, a box to receive newsletters. I have no problem receiving a valid email about SB from the Admins, I do, however, have an issue with a newsletter that is nothing more than more ads. I am not unrelaxed concerning SB. I just hit here...

    Newsletter Spam

Ahh, no. Don't know where that came from. Just indicated its somewhat harder to see whos who by their user name color. But thats what everyone appears to do here anymore. Hmm, maybe the real scuba issues are in the 147 forums that i don't monitor anymore. May have to check that. Dive safe

    Newsletter Spam

With user names being in 14 assorted colors now, it's somewhat hard to tell anymore. But, that was not the point.

    Newsletter Spam

I already did that, my point being, I should not have had to as the "newsletter" should have been an opt-in, not opt-out. Unwanted commercial email is called "spam". Not "a free service". Your moderatorship is showing.

    Newsletter Spam

Where did the "default to yes" newsletter spam signup come from in my profile? If I wanted this junk, I'd ask for it. You guys are really pushing the edge to make a buck.

    AIR2 and the long hose...

If you go clockwise you have to use a halfhitch at the end. Makes it really messy

Why isnt there Any Money for Divemasters

I don't agree, because you're talking apples and oranges. First, there is no job market for divemasters, and few, IMO, would consider a DM card an end result. Its a means to get to instructor, for the most part. Whether that becomes a career or not is immaterial to the discussion. Training...

Why isnt there Any Money for Divemasters

When I was DMing, I got 15% off the top, free regulator maintenance and Keyman prices. All dives were free. DMs work for free because the shop tells them DMs work for free. Screw that.

    AIR2 and the long hose...

Okay. My point was, there is no correlation between the Air2 and a long hose. They are mutually exlcusive in their use. That being said, to answer your other questions: I use a 6 ft hose Hogarthian Yes. A regular length hose works okay for recreation diving, but again, makes no difference...

    AIR2 and the long hose...

The use of an Air2 makes no difference on what length primary you have, as the Air2 can only be used one way. And, yes, I used one for a number of years. And, yes, I do now use a long hose. But not with an Air2. But like I said, the use would be the same. And, yes, I've used it under actual...

    Wing for double Al80's

40 would probably be enough, but why limit yourself on a fairly big ticket dive item? You'll see little difference between a 40 and 55 lb (size or price) doubles wing, and the 55 would be good for steels and a drysuit. MD

    Argon use

I've never done the purge thing, even when using trimix, and haven't had a problem with cold. I use an alum 13 and can dive all weekend and still have ar left. Although you have a huge tank, it only holds 2000 psi, so I wouldn't plan on purging much unless you have a ready source to refill. MD
