Hello,
I am looking for 2 convertible values... ie they can be used for DIN or Yolk regulators.
I do NOT want a modular valve that can be used for H-attachments or used to make doubles.
thanks
Jeff
i bought my bp/w after about 25 dives. i had always rented a bc. i also hated the bc so when donning the bp/w I felt like I was in heaven...
it was streamlined, and simple w/o tons of stupid straps hanging everywhere! It's also easier to travel with.
I think this article has to do more with...
for what you describe I would completely stay away from a trilam suit. 60 degree diving is easy to stay warm but for rescue work and ice diving I would highly recommend a neoprene suit. In general they are tough as nails and will keep you plenty warm in 35 degree water.
fourth element seems...
get an abyss 2mm non-crushed neoprene suit. Mine is covered in Kevlar for added durability. since it is a solid material the buoyancy issues are negligible and it is warmer and more durable than a trilam.
it is essentially a commercial suit without the solid helmet ring lock. each is...
NC and VB are different animals due to the gulf stream.
During the summer the temps are different...
Inshore diving (15 miles out): vb = ~65, nc = 70+
offshore diving (30 miles out): vb = ~55, nc = 65+
So you can see that a dry suit is recommended for VB offshore. I would also dive dry in...
Asia might be a bit far. I can go anywhere us air can go. I was hoping for Norway or something like that... But anywhere is fine. There' some reasonable stuff in the maldives but that's half way around the world. Not much as far as liveaboards running off the west coast.
Cold is fine. I'd...
I'd live to hear some ideas. I know its short notice, but I have some vacation time I need to burn.
A liveaboard would be preferred, but a dive resort would be good too.
thanks!
Jeff
I'm looking for a 4-7 day live-a-board pretty much anywhere. Cold is fine.
I have a budget of about $1500 not including airfare.
Any info on last minute spots would be great.
thanks!
Jeff
Looking to get a last minute trip in December 2010 and was thinking of Norway. Net information is hard come by. I was hoping to do a 5-6 live-a-board trip.
Any help here?
thanks!
Jeff
ummm... well it is and it isnt.
1. if a boat cancels due to conditions there is a good chance that as a newer dive you might to abort the day
2. there seems to be bad ideas coming from both the operation and the divers. for me 4-5 foot seas are okay, but for others they are not. current...
its hard to say w/o knowing exactly what you have... but the biggest things is to get a bp/w. it should be easy to get your console stripped and get the compass and computer on your arm. Your regs should be fine you might just have to adjust the hoses a bit or buy some new ones. Also you may...
in most cases if there are not strong currents you can make a surface swim back to the boat assuming it is anchored. in the cases I have heard where people get stranded, they swim in one direction for a long time w/o changing direction or making a reciprocal! or the boat isn't anchored and...
I thought PADI taught that the max rec depth was 100', but that open water cert divers should not go beyond 60' or make dives that involve more than a 3 min safety stop.
funny how the OP hasn't been back to the tread....???
It would be nice for some right wing advocates to be at least a little educated and objective...
Capitalism > Socialism...
In England in the mid to late 1800's there was no government intervention in business. Children worked 80 hour...
i think its more of a logistics factor than a buoyancy factor when selection lp to hp.
lp tanks are easier to get fills for and much easier to get nitrox fills for as when partial pressure blending often just a tank transfer is done and often times those levels of pressure is lower than the...
cdx5 is environmentally sealed sealed and has shown in testing to be one of the best breathing regs in last year's test... take it for what it is...
if you are diving in water colder than 50df I would take the cdx5, otherwise save your $$.
