I didn't do my OW Dives at Dive Haven but I did most of my specialties and AOW at dive Haven. Buoyancy, Nav, S&R, Rescue, Deep, The Kraken gave me my Drysuit Spec at Dive Haven. Even did my DM Mapping of the NE Cove. The Diving is fine at Haven and compared to Lanier where I did my first OW...

If you use air from your lungs you are recycling used air as a buoyancy tool not just exhaling it out into the water. Using the power inflater is using perfectly breathable air to fill a BC that through debates on here we have gleaned, carry bacteria and you don't want to breath that air...

My questions to the OP. Do you have your inflater ready before you take out your reg? I would and then when would you actually need to hold your breath? If you are preparing to take your reg out of your mouth aren't you going to do so after you inhale? Aren't you descending in the water...

I am a sinker and I had to forcefully inhale and put my head back as far as possible to float. the last couple minutes with your hands out of the water I only had wrist up out of the water. It took some practice for me.

When are you going? I went in Jan-Feb and everyone said 3 mil would be fine. And some on the boat laughed when I was in a 5 mil. But I was the one grinning after the dives as everyone else was shivering in their 3 mil and I was snug.
