Jax - St. Auggie dive conditions

I do not see a thread for conditions for offshorer Jax, but if anyone is interested::pirate2: We rode out 35 miles to the Bear Wreck Site, blue water up top, visibility so low on bottom, I busted my lip hitting the bottom on decent. Came in to Desco reef, terrible thermocline, could not find...

    OGS Bear

Does anyone have info on the OGS Bear? I know she sank off of St. Augustine, presumably by a U boat in WWII. I know she is a 105' freighter. Any other history?? Thanks. Cheers!

    Oil change on a Suzuki 115 4stroke

I just bought a new 22' Glacier Bay Power cat with two Suzuki 115 four stroke engines. Does anyone know how to change the oil in these engines? I looked all over the web and can not find a thing. The manual just says to do it, a shop manual is not available. Any help would be appreciated.

    Valentines weekend recomendations?

Hi all, My wife wants to go to the keys for V weekend. Any idea where she (a non-diver) can get pampared and I can get wet? We usually stay at the Chesapeke in Islamorada, but they are full. Thanks in advance.

    Poor drysuit service from LDS

I ordered a DUI TLS350 with Zip seals, P valve, knee pads and a few other options in Late November, was given December 23rd for a ship date, I picked her up on Dec 11, almost two weeks AHEAD of schedule. Very happy with DUI. Also, in our area we have a factory trained DUI repair guy, wrist...

FYI on trimming DUI Zip seals

In case anyone was interested, child safety scissors will cut DUI neck Zip seals. Apparently, though they do not cut that straight. :crossbone Oh, also, never let a four year old watch you trim a new seal. All they have are safety scissors. :11: My new seal is on it's way. Sure am...

    Pony bottle vs. Spare Air?

A pony bottle clipped on like a stage bottle can be passed off if someone else needs it. This preserves your own gas and helps to ensure your own safety. I have had to hand mine off to a frantic diver whom I am sure would have used far more of my own remaining gas to allow me a good safety...

    Diabetes and Diving???

I think of AOW as the second requisite course for all divers. I beleive everyone should take it regardless of what type of diving they do. Perhaps educating your intructor is one way of getting your son in AOW. I am not a fan of instructor shopping, but the training is important. Perhaps...

    Key Largo

I have dove with Horizon, Ocean Divers and Rainbow. I had significant problems with Rainbow when they had the operation in Islamorada. We went out on a six pack boat from the Chesapeke resort. Both of the tanks they provided had less than 2000psi, one was 1435psi according to my log book...

    BP Wing VS backinflation BCs

I bought a seaquest black diamond, used it twice, then got introduced to the transpac with a rec wing by dive rite. Sold the black diamond. Transpac is softer than a traditional back plate but has all the freedom, floatation, buoyancy characteristics as a harness. I dove for a week in the...

    Kids scuba gear??

I bought my 10year old daughter the transpac from dive rite. I dive one with a rec wing, they have sizes down to XS but I bought the small as I can size it down for now, but will last her a long time. It will easily adjust for any size tank as she will be using al40's to start. I got the trek...

    Drysuit for Florida

Thanks to all who replied, My wife reminded me of the great BC debacle. I boght a cheep jacket style BC to replace on I had for years, then bought a Sea Quest Black Diamond to replace the cheapo, then bought a transpac BP/W. I wanted the transpac all along. To save cash, she has encouraged me...
