    Blue Hole update 7/2007

Stella says that a lot of dead fish floated to the top during dredging. Was at Blue Hole Friday and today. Did 5 dives, only saw about 4 fish the whole time. Ecological disaster. But, I did finish my Divemaster rating.

Differences Between Men And Women In Diving

Good idea! Hmmm, I wonder if some of the scuba manufacturers would contribute to something like this. Wish I knew how to start a thread on this subject in the Women's Views forum.

Differences Between Men And Women In Diving

I'm a 54 year old woman who got my open water cert in August 2006. I'm now 4 dives away from Divemaster. I view diving as a wonderful challenge, and sincerely hope I never loose my caution and just the right amount of nervousness to keep me safe. I've learned something on every dive, and I'm...

What did you buy that you regret?

I can beat that easy, and appropriate for the scuba forum. Check out my new avatar - Jesse Ventura, U.S. Navy Seal. I also have one of him as Governor of Minnesota wearing a black suit and a tie.

What did you buy that you regret?

Despite good advice from the Aquaflite people, I got the front zipper on the custom 3 mm wetsuit and 1.5 mm shortie. Being a bit stocky, I cannot get out of them by myself. I always have to have someone peel them off me. Someday I'll find myself trapped in one of them alone and will have to cut...

    Navfinder

I was using the Navfinder for a navigation specialty last weekend, and had a terribly time using a pencil to mark on the thing. Does anyone have another suggestion? Is there some kind of black grease pencil that would work underwater? Thanks.

    Suggestions please?

Yes, we are diving the San Solomon Springs. As I understand this was improved by the WPA, so it's a lake only in quotes.

    Suggestions please?

Hi RMO's. I'm in New Mexico, and this weekend a bunch of us are going to Balmorhea, Tx. Never been there before. I'm also working on Divemaster training, and as part of that I have to supervise a dive for certified divers, which I'm supposed to do this trip. Does anyone have any suggestions on...

    pony bottles

He said that he saw a nitrox pony on an organized dive trip he had been on once somewhere. No other reason than that... I do often dive Nitrox on as deep a dive as we can go on around here - 80 feet at altitude, and also wonder if the sudden switch to pony air would cause a problem. Thanks!

    pony bottles

My local, 100 miles away dive shop, having gotten over the shock that I wanted to investigate a pony bottle, is now getting rather enthusiastic about helping me outfit it. I've calculated my surface air consumption over my last 20 dives, and decided that for a 130' dive, beathing hard, and...

There is Water in New Mexico

Hi, I'm new to SB, live in New Mexico. I was certified in August of last year, and have since accumulated lots of specialities, and am working on Divemaster. Most of our diving is done at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM, which is a popular training site. Would love to hear from people who have...
