I am trying to find out whether or not liveaboards require their crew members to take the 3 day or 5 day STCW 95 course prior to becoming employed? If anybody has any insight on this topic or working on a liveaboard as a crew member I would greatly appreciate the responses!

Yea the waterborne bands will work with your citizen watch. I have the citizen aqualand duplex with a 3/4" waterborne safety strap, I highly recommend that you get the band, you don't want to loose that expensive watch. I would imagine that yours would be the same size, but I am not 100% positive.

All of this is good information, thanks. I do realize that it is quite a commitment, and would be an abnormal job. But it seems like it would be one hell of an experience, and a great oppurtunity to meet people and do a lot of diving. It also seems to be the best way to make and save money...

Summer is definately the best time to dive here. You do get blown out sometimes, but not that often. I would go as far to say from may until september/october.

The water will probably be in the low to mid 70's, as it is right of the coast, and is not in the gulf stream. It maybe 2 late 2 be telling you this, but just read the forum!

Anyone have any experience with Osprey Dive Charters who dive Lake Erie. How is the diving in Lake Erie, in the middle of October, Temps? Is this doable in a 2 piece 7 mil, with thick gloves and hood or is a drysuit definately necessary? Any info is good

I have a 7mil Pinnacle Elastiprene wetsuit and I love it. Pinnacle definately makes quality wetsuits. Everyone I know that uses them hasn't had any complaints!
