looking at the casing. there are clearly two anchor points (see red arrow in photo) for unscrewing the battery compartment cover to replace the battery.
anyone with knowledge/insight/expeimented on opening this cover for a battery change?
please do not reply that it has to go back to...
anyway, found one pertaining review on leisurepro. that reviewer bought it exclusively for lionfish and said it sucked. not sure what size lionfish that reviewer was cutting, but noted that the blade edge nicked.
would suck to replace a $90 knife on a regular basis.
given everything is eventually going to be closed in the impending future.
need to start focusing on lionfish. they are abundant, nobody seriously shoot at them, they are an easy shot and they are great eating. just pain in the azz to harvest. (rather take a man of war tentacle wrap around over...
while every piece of equipment has its pros and cons.
if you think the only benefit for air all around is only at the surface.
you have much to learn about the benefits of air all around.
hence the reason why you do not feel anything pushing on u with your bp/w is because u are constantly...
to capture 3rd person action. nothing beat pole/monopod mount.
to capture 1st person action. nothing beats head mount. issue is - top mount does not give the same field of views as side mount. so if anyone knows a mask that does offer side mount... will take one now. until that happens...
given all the other noise of the ocean. waves, wind, boat, motor.
IMHO - 60db is the absolute minimum audio threshold for getting the attention of someone "is" looking for you.
that means:
standard whistle (ie fox40) is good for about 100' at 98db
storm whistle is good for about 300' at 109db...
finding a domestic dealer (usa) for this scuba horn posed to be a challenge - especially with the scubapro fitting. even international dealers are scarce - given the fitting.
finally order it via factory direct and finally arrived.
with the unit on hand.. wet and tested... this device is...
use to have a dive alert plus v1. on the surface the horn worked great, never use the quacker in the water.
overall it was kinda bulky (for my taste) and no way to service. over time wear and tear had reduce its peak performance.
any scuba horn owners here? what are the pro and con...
looking for a few DSMB for lifting fish (as in spearfishing) to the surface from below the depth.
all it needs is 1) a flapper valve for inflation and 2) a pressure relief valve for ascending and for deflation.
although yellow is preferred, orange or red will be fine.
4' length is idea, will...
full jacket inflation simply means the bladder is all around the torso. not just on the back and/or not just on the lower side.
beside scubapro classic plus - most stab jackets only offers lower side bladder and back bladder. missing front bladder.
hope this clears up the requirements...
what are other available brand/model (IF ANY) that offers full jacket inflation?
such as scubapro classic plus.
just not interested in fighting bc orientation.
want it to be near neutral in any position underwater and want to be head side up at surface.
you take trades? rather go $7000 and not have to think about it for a long time, than to go $3500 and have to constantly tinker. save some brain cell. for as little usage as i gotten out of this mch6. it is a PITA. only positive is that is was the lowest price compressor available. sadly...
for clarification.
the last last fill session (mid may) was four tank. only one of the tank had a slight odor.
the last fill session (mid june) was also four tank. only the short filled tank was used to dove. the three other full tanks have not been dove. all have the same odor.
cleavitt -...
rcontrera.
just to reaffirm. so the symptoms on post #1 matches the 100hr service? is such symptom "the classic symptom" of the 100hr service?
the poor pressure sounds to be correct with the valves not closing properly. what about the ordor? is that from the air thrashing, then heating...
compressor is a MaxAir 35 w/ Honda gas. 80 hours on the meter. oil change 10hr, 25hr, 50hr, 75hr with Seco Lube Synthetic 500. filling HP120 to 3500psi with 21%. 2-4 tank per session. each fill session 4-6 weeks apart.
on the last fill session (mid june) the compressor has been unable to...
vaguely recall screwing down / tighting down that red cap in the past cause it was loose. perhap it was just imagation.
beanojones did you bust a non working open to verify it actually snaps in and permanent? your comment above did not sound 101% sure.
if anyone did bust one open please do...
dive alert has lost its noise producing ability. this is due to some hard water deposit from rinsing and/or light corrosion from the salt building onto the vibrating stainless diaphram.
see picture. need to remove the red horn opening.

obviously titanium is the alloy that is corrosion resistance and hold a sharp edge longest and lightest in weight.
there is also the new H-1 stainless that is almost as good as titanium.
as for the typical stainless counterparts. can an alloy expert put in order (1) the corrosion resistance to...
like to know the (1) gas delivery performance difference at depth and (2) physical difference as how to tell them apart
and
(3) be a bonus to know the internal difference.
