Me and my buddy are heading to the Blue Hole over the Memorial Day weekend. Just seeing if anybody is planing a trip there on that weekend. It would be nice to meet some of you, and get some time underwater.

I've never seen the it, but my Mom watched this movie and started freaking out about my diving. She was really worried until I told her about safety procedures and showed her some actual diving videos. I might have to watch it just to laugh at how absurd it actually is.

I'm gonna agree with everybody's posts so far in this thread. Keep diving, take more classes, and/or find a great mentor. The more you dive, the more there is to experience and learn. And experience + learning = less accidents. Also read about accidents and learn what went wrong. Think...

I'm just curious, what is your dive plan for this? Do you include deco gas because of the altitude? Or go to straight O2 after the dive? I've never dived high altitude (above Chatfield) and am wondering if gas planning plays a major roll into a dive like this. Sounds like a fun dive, but...

If I had had 2-3 foot viz, it would've been no problem at all. I've done those dives many times before. But after reading all these responses, I'm really glad I called the dive. Surface supplied air...steel toe boots...blacked out masks...being way negative....way out of my experience range.
