    Replacement for Aqualung all-in-one Computer

So I spent the last couple of years getting my fiance certified and interested in SCUBA. We got married on April 14th (Thank you very much!) and went to Grand Cayman on our honeymoon. On the very first dive, (and on the Kittiwake wreck), her all-in-one computer/dive watch/depth guage/tank...

    Need apartment in La Jolla

I will be in San Diego on business for the next 6 months (starting in March). I am looking for an apartment in La Jolla, if possible. Does anyone know of a nice apartment in the area with parking? I don't know the area very well, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Jim

    It's that time again...

Every year we turn our eyes to the Gulf of Mexico, and to the Atlantic Ocean between the west coast of Africa to the Florida Straits. Hurricane season 2008 is nearly upon us. Now is the time to think about stocking up on our water supply, canned foods, fresh batteries, that new generator, and...

Trip Report: Vortex Spring Cave 5/4/2008

I drove over from Marianna to Vortex around 10 am this morning, and when I got there, John Faircloth was giving his rebreather lecture to about 8 divers. 10 divers ultimately tested out the Optima there today including Shane and Johnny Mac. They tell me that the record is 14 though. I made the...

    When/where are the rebreather demos?

I am interested in trying out the different rebreathers that are on the market. Is there a site that I can find out when and where the scheduled rebreather events are this year? Thanks!

    Are we sure about this?

Diving, even "easy" diving, requires a certain level of fitness. Are we really sure we know what that is, and are we taking the steps to ensure that divers understand this by effectively communicating that to all divers and are they taking care of that before they dive? "Easy" is in quotes...

    Peacock Springs Update

I talked with Ron over at Dive Outpost today. The Suwanee is dropping about 4 inches per day right now. If the rains hold off, it may be possible to get back into Peacock before the end of April, maybe sooner. Little River is no longer vortexing, so hopefully now the water is getting pushed...

I want to put together an AL80 twinset. I have a used pair of single AL80s with new Hydro and VIP. I have bands, but I need to replace the yoke-only valves on the singles, and add DIN valves with barrel seals on the manifold. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good deal? I want to...

San Diego / Southern Cal diving

I am going to be running a project in the San Diego area for the foreseeable future. I will be spending some weekends in the area and I am interested to find out where some diving spots are from some locals. I am mainly interested in technical diving, but I may also just like to get wet at...

Great Outdoors Restaurant - High Springs *NEW*

So since Peacock is blown out and we spent more time than usual in High Springs this week, and because we got sick of Floyds, we found the new GREAT OUTDOORS Restaurant that just opened on Tuesday last week in High Springs. It is a little more upscale, especially for High Springs, but if you...

    Wow! What A Night!

My condolences to anyone that went through the storm last night that stretched from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada. I just got power back a few minutes ago. Hail, high winds and tornados... I hope that all ScubaBoarders came through okay.

Are any Scubaboarders out there going to be hitting the streets in the New Orleans area for Mardi Gras? I was actually thinking about going down there this year.

My LCD display has a crack in it that has wiped out any view on the display. The camera still takes great pictures, but without the display, I can't change any settings. I am going to need it in Florida on the week of March 1st. Question: What is the turnaround time to replace the display...

    Dive Rite Backplate

I want to start getting into Tec, but I need some advice on gear. When I first got certified and bought my gear, I bought a Dive Rite Transpak II, with the intention of doing Tec at some point in the future. I put that off for awhile... Well I recently had problems with my Transpak BC (it...
