the most surprised you've been on a dive

In Bonaire, 06, dive buddy was stung by a scorpion while putting his booties on. The scorpion had climbed into his booties as they were drying overnight on his porch. After the sting, the scorpion ran along the deck of the boat until we squished him. I now, always shake my booties out before...

    RBT Calculations

Greetings ScubaPro Is the RBT calculation done the same way on your integrated computers vs non-integrated? Say for example; the Sol vs the Terra. I was wondering if the RBT calculation on your integrated computers factor in availability of air, or is the calculation...

    anxiety

Hey Buddy, Just thought I would add something to the already great pieces of advice already posted regarding the mask clear. The physical action needed to clear the mask is exactly the same action as blowing your nose. Focus on the idea of blowing your nose { just like you do at home when you...

how to prevent leg cramps (calves)

One possible idea to help prevent cramps in general is to drink lots of water and not allow oneself to get dehydrated. I have found this to be effective and helpfull. I am sure others will offer specific help with exercises that will also help. Good luck to you and safe diving!

    My dive buddy startles me.

Maybe try a bungee cord. You hold one end she holds the other. Don't clip it to your BC, both of you hold each end in your hand so you can drop it quickly in case of trauma. I think a 60 inch bungee works well. This is a good way to stay in contact with out hanging on to each other. I have...

    Wetsuit Question???

My opinion is to use a 3 ML full, you can always pop the neck to cool off and you have protection incase you run into any jelly fish. Just my opinion.

shore diving advice for boat diver?

Hi Lorenzoid One thing I would recomend { as LeadTurn said } is to wear high ankle booties even if you choose to wear a shorty or a swim suit/rash guard. The shore diving in Bonaire is awsome, but it is not always easy to see the terrain as you walk into the water. With the...

Hi, been diving a couple of times. Just wanted to say hi

Hi there and welcome to ScubaBoard!! My opinion is that you should plan on using wet suits. I think that even though the water is in the low 80's you may get a little chilled at the end of your dive. I think its better to be comfortable at the end even if you get a little warm at the start of...

What to do when shark approach?

    Paranormal Diving?

Hello Lee I wanted to thank you for what you do, and for posting here. Car accident recovery diving can be a terrible job. A cousin of mine is an OPP constable and worked on the recovery dive team up in lake country in Ontario. He had to stop after a couple of years because the...

    Night diving without certification

I took the night dive course, great fun!! One of the most usefull things I learned was how to set up my lights on the shore { triangle shape with two additional lights down the center} to ensure that I was able to find my way back to the appropriate exit point close to my car. If it is very...
