I just had the opportunity to do 2 dives with my new Nauticam housing :-) First let me say I am VERY pleased with the build quality of the the housing and access to all the controls!! I am coming from a Patima/G9 set up and the Nauticam is much lighter - YAY.. It's great to handle...

    G9 Failure

yes sir when the G9 was discontinued I got a spare. The power on switch on my primary G9 died took it to 3rd party to get repaired.. so still have 2 but that's one of the issues with housing a camera.. Kerry

    Recommendation for a focusing light

hmmm I used the Fantasea Nano Focus light Fantasea Line Water Sports Photo Products & Accessories- Nano Focus Light I think this one gives enough light, hell in the Bahamas I used it as my primary night diving light with the focus lights from my Z240's as backup... And before anyone asks your...

    G9 in the Bahamas

Thanks all.. I'm still not quite use to the shutter lag after switching from film oh well an excuse to dive more.. I used the Ikelite AF35 briefly and found it ok for macro, I'm a little unsure about it for anything else but others have said they like it. I'm really happy with the Inons. I got...

Any reports yet on the Ikelite AF 35?

Sorry it's one of those things I've had for years so no idea where I got it and no brand on it.. Sort of a bigger version of this... Sea & Sea Target Light Holder (holds Pelican Stealth & UK Mini Q40 Lights)

    G9 in the Bahamas

I recently go back from a trip on Blackbeards in the Bahamas where I have the opportunity to take some photos with my G9 in a Patima housing with dual Inon Z240's. I still need some practice with the camera but over all I was happy with the results. here are a few Kerry

Any reports yet on the Ikelite AF 35?

I have a light holder that i think was originally designed to strap to your arm, works good with th smaller ikelite strobes. i ave also just strapped a light to them with knife straps. Kerry

    Diving Powell River

I've always enjoyed diving at Powell River. There is the mermaid, and various other dives around there, some wrecks that you can do from shore and I usually end up going over to Texada island and doing a dive or two as well. Sort of the usual lower mainland types animals and stuff, Octo, the...

Rumor has it that Inon America could be +

Yes i too have got Inon products from Reef Photo lately some items were back ordered and did arrive. So I assume there is no issue with Reef getting stuff direct from Inon Japan. This move is too bad for the Guys at Inon NA BUT there is no reason it should ahve much effect on end users.. This...

Any reports yet on the Ikelite AF 35?

Interesting statement, I think Ikelite is sort of marketing it as a simple mostly auto solution for point and shoot cameras... I thought it was pretty easy to get OK macro or closeup photos with this strobe. I still say it is a little underpowered for things other than macro BUT that depends...

    WTB Patima G9 housing

Too bad, I'm a happy Patima user as well, must have gotten one of the last ones in stock... Next bet might be Seatool as i believe they also make a high quality aluminum housing for the G9. Kerry

Any reports yet on the Ikelite AF 35?

Well since this old thread got revived I guess I better come clean and say I no longer use this strobe. I still own it as a backup along with a Canon A640 but here is the deal. I was very into underwater photography for years (like 15) with the Nikonos system and Ikelite strobes and then took...

ISO Advice on New Set Up

Ahh Ok that makes more sense... I only know one person who had the Fantasea strobe and they were not too thrilled with it, I can't remember much about it but if it is optically triggered and can handle a preflash I don't see why it would not work with a G9. Bu there is really no way you are...
