    Padi Master scuba diver

I respectfully disagree. Look at the SEI master diver program. It is a "earn" as you go (as I am sure you know). I been diving for sometime now, well over 500 dives. I am going to be taking the master diver program with Tom Leaird this year for I beleive it will increase my skills. It has been...

    sharing air in cold water

I also dive the blizzards and most of my dives are cold water. I never had a freeze up on my blizzards since I started diving the blizzard back in the 90's. I keep the IP at 125 which is the bottom end for the Sherwoods. I had grapefruit size ice balls on my 1st stage and it was still bleeding...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls

Thank you for the info. I will be sure to reach out to Pura Vida upon my arrival. Is there a web site for the tides? How far is the swim from Phil Foster park to the bridge? I went diving yesterday in 37 degree water. 70 degree water is warm for us cold water divers.

    Cutting an Ice Entrance...Isosceles.Acute,or Obtuse

It is really just what you make of it. I dont pull the ice out. I use a chain saw and I can cut a 6' x 6' x'6' hole with 12" thick ice in abour a half hour. This includes sinking a single ice screw and attaching a binder to it. I have seen divers pull the ice out, use had saws to cut the hole...

    Cutting an Ice Entrance...Isosceles.Acute,or Obtuse

Why do you pull the ice out of the hole?? I just cut a triangle and use a firemans pike and push it under the ice. When I am done for the day, I use my line tending rope and wrap it around the block that is shoved under the ice and pull the ice back into place.

    I was really hoping.........

If it is going to be cold, might as well have some snow and ice to play in. I am always looking for a buddy to ice dive with. My two regular dive buddies keeps wimping out on me each year. Rich at White Star was kind enough last year to let me dive with some PSD's last year that were there.

When the door opens and the rush of air and noise overtake your senses (not even looking outside at this time) will even get ones Epirephrine going. The ole fight or flight senses are taken very literally here.....lol

Skydiver wanting to turn to Scuba Diving

A thrill or rush is all relative to ones perception. Riding a roller coaster can give someone a rush and they may see themselves as a thrill seeker. Riding a motorcycle could give someone a rush and see themselves as a thrill seeker. Cave diving, wreck diving, ice diving comes to mind on SCUBA...

Skydiver wanting to turn to Scuba Diving

The last time I looked at the stat's, there were a lot more deaths in SCUBA than there was skydiving. I believe there were 54 skydiving deaths in the world with 23 being in the USA. Several of these were suicides. I'll take my chances with skydiving for staying safer.
