    Connecting Sidemount Bottles With Hphose

Yep. Unlike back mount with sidemount you have options. Bring more stages if you need more redundancy. Stages provide more gas, and more importantly more regulators. Pretty easy to diagnose a failure on your main tanks when you can see them. Shutting things down is also easy. Everything can...

Show us your kung-fu skills in trimming out Faber cylinders.

Watch the whole video :-) . Then feel free to comment about gas supply. We had plenty of gas. And yes the comment says 500 PSI will not be happening in a cave... For very good reason... Mat.

Diving Martz Offshoot At Peacock Springs

Thanks. Usually I am the camera guy, and well... always the video editor... This time Scott was nice enough to shoot the video so I got to be in front. Thanks Scott!

Me with Faber tanks. 500PSI? Will not be happening inside a cave :) We find the Faber LP 85s trim out excellent in the caves and its pretty much what we use for warmer caves. In colder water though you will want heavier tanks or its added weight.

Diving Martz Offshoot At Peacock Springs

....Everyone is entitled to their opinion. What is it they say about opinions? :) @TONY CHANEY ....Yes there is silt everywhere especially in Martz offshoot. Much of the silt is caused by the gentle fin kicks up high and the water bouncing off the ceiling and raising the silt 10 or so feet...

Diving Martz Offshoot At Peacock Springs

Stage is 32% so 110 max depth or 120 based on older labelling. No we had no plans to go that deep, but did need the gas to safely go the distance (pun intended) :-)

Diving Martz Offshoot At Peacock Springs

It probably is for a bit. It would definitely be a real challenge after bit The pinch down where we turned I suspect is not BM. But then that just my opinion. Keep in mind we're not locals so only get to do this stuff a few times a year. Other than that it's open water, and wrecks etc for...

Your Favorite Cave Dive In Florida

Even though its a bit of work to get to. Jug hole (blue spring) is very very nice. Telford I'd have to put as a close second. Like the way that cave changes from River cave to more typical FL cave with various changes in between. Neither of these I would consider beginner level though. So...

Diving Martz Offshoot At Peacock Springs

We finally made a point to visit this tunnel which is part of Orange Grove. Its very silty as it get's very little traffic. Interesting tunnel but quite tight and not for the inexperienced. It pinched down and we turned the dive there.

    Tethered Ice diving in Canada

Yes, Wetsuits! My students were quite comfortable in the 7MM Waterproof brand suits. The seals at the arms and legs worked well to limit water circulation in the suits. Water temps were 38F at depth, but the air temp that day was pleasant which made it more comfortable changing... That and...

    Tethered Ice diving in Canada

This was at our local quarry just north of Ottawa. It's a very well known locally. Mat. ---------- Post added April 7th, 2014 at 02:29 PM ---------- We had one safety diver and myself in the water with the students at all times. There were also tenders on the surface of course for both...

    Tethered Ice diving in Canada

We ran a recreational ice diving course a short time ago and had a blast. Recreational ice diving safely requires divers to be tethered which means lines and harnesses. Its a lot of work to organize, but the rewards are worth it since you get to enjoy exceptional vis and the ice looks stunning...

Diving the Conestoga in Ice Water Makes for good Visibility!

A friend told me there is open water in Prescott at the underwater park but I have not seen it myself. With all the ice still up near Brockville one has to be ready for possible ice flows this time of year without warning. Mat.

Diving the Conestoga in Ice Water Makes for good Visibility!

Diving the Conestoga in Ice Water Makes for good Visibility!

Thanks. The Ice flows were nice to look at, but a pain in the water. Getting fins on and off with pieces of ice bumping you was not "relaxing". The wind was high that day and breaking up the ice and likely causing the flows. Funny thing was there was no ice flow before we got in the water and...

Diving the Conestoga in Ice Water Makes for good Visibility!

I managed to get my van stuck while filming this video. It was a windy day and snow drifts got us on the way out. The Conestoga is max 25 feet deep with the top of boiler sticking out above the surface. A few days before this dive there was still ice from shore to the boiler which was frozen...
