We service ours once a year on roughly the anniversary of the date of purchase. They have free parts for life if we stick to the annual service. The LDS run a bunch of pressure tests on the 1st and 2nd stages, and provides us with a print our of any work carried out.

I would dive anywhere in any condition because I like getting wet. Problem is I dive with my family and I don't think my wife has any interest in diving in water cooler than 75f. Thankfully we are in Florida.

It really depends where you are diving. Most boats I have been one actually tell you to wait for your buddy at the surface and descend together. The DM and skipper also expect an OK signal once you are in the water. Just rolling in and descending isn't even an option on many commercial charters.
