Bring your gear in carry on! Also carry on your log book so nothing can happen to it. I had a suitcase full of gear "lost" by an airline and lost my log!
Everyone needs to learn buoyancy control, it takes practice. I wish my legs floated. You can practice mask flooding in the pool, most people don't like it. Your back may have hurt because you were tense or over weighted. I almost gave up diving until I discovered weight integrated BCs. The...
FYI I have never had a problem bringing an empty pony bottle with the valve out on an airplane in my carry on. I just did it again in March going to Cozumel. Shops in the Carribean have never given me a problem filling them.
Also a Jersey trained diver.

Your group must be diving with us March 8 - 15 . Sandro called me to make sure I was OK with your group. Looking forward to meeting you!

I have never seen a pony bottle available to rent. We always bring our own since I never make a dive deeper than 80 feet without it! (I am a Jersey diver) Tsa does allow ponys in carry-on empty with the valve out. I have a pvc plug with a small hole that I screw in as soon as I am passed...
