Annoying EM-1 problem - Using LCD screen UW

Of course! how didn't I think of that! One correction though, turning s-ovf on again, disables LV boost on the LCD (at least in my version of the firmware). So I need to turn off s-ovf in UW mode. Thanks!

Annoying EM-1 problem - Using LCD screen UW

Hi, I have a new EM-1 setup and trying to learn the ropes. One issue that drives me nuts is that I cannot use the LCD UW. Short version: The camera insists on showing simulation of the image I will take, and since I am using strobes it shows a dark screen. This is supposed to be canceled if I...

Nauticam Housing - How to deal with a minor flooding?

Hi, I just returned from a dive vacation in the Galapagos (wow! but tough on photography). On one of the dives the flood-detection light on my NA-EM10 housing started blinking red. Not much to do about that during the dive, but did not see any major water in the housing and the camera was...

OM-D EM10 flash sync speed (optical cable)

Bill, The advertised sync speed on the camera is 1/250 (and faster for olympus flashes). I haven't checked if the strobes have maximal speed. I did do dry tests which were successful (as well as some of the underwater photos). I go back and forth between manual and TTL strobe setting. Since...

OM-D EM10 flash sync speed (optical cable)

Hi, I had the chance to try out my new EM10 in the water. I have NA-EM10 housing and two YS-D1 connected with optical cables. AFAIK the fasted sync speed is 1/250th. However, at times I would get images where only the bottom of the picture was exposed --- as though the curtain and the flash...

    Stability issues

Congrats on the new setup. It looks great. Regarding your questions. I have a similar one (E-PL3 nauticam + handles + 2 strobes). * You can get/make a lanyard to serve as topside handle (Nauticam 18cm / 7? Lanyard With 2 Snap Hooks [nau.25411] - $35.00 : Reef Photo & Video!, The Underwater...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5 Sometimes Unresponsive

Sounds like what I was suffering, although you seem to get it more often than all above reports. Where did you dive? AFAIK it happens only underwater. Seems like all the reports are in Nauticam housings (either OM-D or E-PL3). Might be something to do with the housing pressing on some buttons...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5 Sometimes Unresponsive

I would not conclude that it is the firmware. Between the two freezes I suffered I shot several 1000s shots, including a 5 day trip on a liveaboard where I was shooting non-stop....

    Olympus OM-D E-M5 Sometimes Unresponsive

I just returned from a dive where this happened to me. This the second time it happens - e-pl3 in nauticam housing. In both instances it happened fairly soon into the dive (after 4-5 pictures), the screen froze with the live view information. In both cases nothing helped except battery removal...

    E-PL3 and S&S Flash YS-D1

As cardog wrote, the RC mode is designed for communicating with Olympus strobes. It does trigger the flash (as it uses the flashes as a mean of communication) and so triggers the YS but not for the reasons you want. My experience with the epl3+YS-01 might different than the YS-D1, but I either...

If you only had 2 ports for your Nauticam

My recommendation (and what I am aiming for): 4" dome for 9-18, 12-50, and 60 4.33" for the W/A lens I recently returned from the Maldives traveling with one port and the first three lens (my 8mm is on its way). I used home made zoom gear for 12-50 (similar to the australian one mentioned in...

    NEW M43 products for Nauticam

Ryan, I am glad to hear that. What about a solution for people (like me) who bought the NA-PL3 and want to upgrade? Best Nir

OMD EM-5+12-50mm+Nauticam = No Manual focus?

AFAIK, no, you cannot manually move the focus forward/backward. You can assign a key for the AFL and then in MF mode use that key to focus and then it would stay on that focus point while you shoot (basically almost zero trigger delay). This would work with any lens, not just the 12-50. -Nir

Choice of Lenses 9-18mm for sombody who already has the 8mm, 12-50mm and 60mm

AFAIK - no. However, the 9-18mm port (the 4.33" semi-dome) can house the 12-50mm and 60mm lenses (with great quality). Right now this is the only port I am using. The 60mm is a macro lens (with amazing capabilities). The 9-18mm is a great W/A lens and is very versatile. The 12-50 is doing both...

    NEW M43 products for Nauticam

Regarding the R&D cost. As far as I can tell, the E-PL5 is identical to the E-PL3 except for two buttons that changed their shape - so the R&D here should be minimal... BTW, As an owner of a NA-PL3 housing (having invested quite a few $$ in Nauticam products) I would appreciate the option of...

Print-it-yourself diopter port for Nauticam 4” Wide Angle Port

This port has recently become my main port as it fits both the 12-50mm and the 60mm lenses (as well as the 9-18mm I originally bought it for). When using it I wanted to add wet diopter - I had one for my flat port and been using it all the time. Nauticam came out with a product for this purpose...
