Dive Charters out of Newport Beach

Can anyone suggest a dive charter out or around Newport Beach? I'm coming down end of April and will have a day free and would love to check out some warmer water. Thanks in advance!

    February in Cozumel

Good string guys--I've been lurking on this string as we get closer to our dates. Say hello to some Pacific Northwest coldwater divers diving Aldora 2/6 - 10 and maybe beyond. 6 from the Seattle Area and one Canadian (go ahead and make fun of Mikey). We are split between Hotel Coz and Aqua...

Any Perspectives on ScubaDu at Presidente??

I stayed at El Presidente and Aldora picked us up every morning from the pier at the hotel so it couldn't be easier. We'd wake up and have coffee, go down to the pier and they would be there with my clean dive gear ready to go. I can't say enough good things about Aldora..they were simply the...

    Vis

New site for me yesterday, Microsoft, which is south of Alki Reef, we could see the bottom clearly when we tied up. At a depth of 48fsw we could clearly see the boat and entire site. It was by far one of the nicest vis days I've had, reminded me of the tropics. There's a very large GPO there...

    vis at Three Tree

Did anybody dive Three Tree this weekend and what was the vis like? I was there a few weeks ago-not so good. I'd like to take a buddy this week.

    Prescription mask found

I emailed Seattle Scuba giving them this link for the guy. If it's his, I'm sure he'll contact you.

    Prescription mask found

I bet I know who it was. We were on the Aluminator and lost one, think he said it was red. The gentleman was from Florida but might be here long term. Is it red? Also, we lost it Saturday before last meaning it would've been in the water a week. If that sounds right I might be able to find this...

    Quadra shore dives this weekend

Diving was frigging fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike of DynaMike is a great guy and has the currents down pat. If we got to the sight and he didn't like it, he'd wait until he was sure the currents were perfect. Most dive operators would have worried about fuel and time and threw us in. A...

    Ratfish at Cove 2

I appreciate that, I've done Three Tree a dozen times, just never in the dead of night. It's one of my favorite places. I did see a bunch this Sunday, at least three.

    Quadra shore dives this weekend

A bunch of us are heading to Quadra this weekend. We have Mike's charter, out on Sat and Sunday and a house on the water not too far from the ferry. I hear that currents are real tough there and shore dives could be problematic, does anyone have any sugestions or protected cove locations?

    Ratfish at Cove 2

I can tell gcbryan, nice avatar. I've always liked them, too bad about their name as I think they deserve something with a little more resepect then Ratfish of Chimera but we weren't asked. I haven't done a night dive there yet, it's been on my list. At night does one go right or left or does...

    Seattle or Oregon?

I can't speak for Oregon that much but it's my understanding that ocean diving there is limited. In Seattle, we have Puget Sound which is a cold water diving jewel. My suggestion is you find time to jump on one of our charters. Depending on your skill level each one can provide you a great place...

    Ratfish at Cove 2

Really? Now I'm wondering if they are more curious then we give them credit for? Most of my experience with these guys were in daytime. Judging by their large eyes I'd say they are nocturnal or at least low light level creatures and just feel more comfortable at night. Hopefully he/she will be...

    Ratfish at Cove 2

I've seen dozens of ratfish of all sizes in Puget Sound but last night three of us had quite an amazing experience. Last night my friends Katie, Bud and I did a night dive, entering the water about 830p. Just north of the Honeybear we spotted a rather large ratfish. Immediately we noticed that...

help w/settings New Fantasea for Cannon Rebel XT

I know there are specific forums for this however I'd like advice from a local that has experience with our unique lighting issues. My flash casing is due any day so I was wondering if anyone could help give me some good start off camera settings. Cannon Rebel XT Slave flash Main flash...

    Drysuit Training

Seattle Scuba has a really good course, I'd give them a ring. I believe they have one upcoming in the next few weeks.
