    Poseidon Besea W40 buoyancy compensator

This is a great BC. Lightly used. For $250 I'll pay shipping. The shoulder straps are probably the most comfortable ever made.

HP 80's twin set, manifold, bands.

These tanks are about the same size as AL63's, nice and compact. Hydro 4/11. BUT, they are in Colorado. I can ship them for about $100 most places, or I could deliver them to DIA (Denver International Airport). I'd like to get $500 for them, I may be able to take a credit card. They are DIN only...

    Buoyancy Cruise Control

I tried out a hardshell BC backpack in the mid or late 70's. I can't remember the brand. It was gray or black. It had @3" vent valves on the top and flood valves on the bottom. To operate it, you had to adjust it to neutral at some depth, I think at least 20'. Then it would vent on ascent with...

What dive computer do I want?

If price is no object then you might want to look at the VR3. It is pretty much unlimited in capability if you decide to get into advanced diving. http://www.vr3.co.uk/

    Buy Rebreathers??Submatrix or Inspiration?

A note on the distractions- George didn’t say he wasn’t going to get training and Brian didn’t say that the Inspiration or Submatix were home builds….. Personally, I'd buy the uints before I took the training. I'm curious as to the choices George specified?? Why'd you choose those? Rob

Oxygen toxicity and air diving depth records

Yes, well... As a commercial diver, I frequently worked at 240-260 FSW on air. That is working, not floating. Many people have dove air on scuba past the 325 FSW (2.2 or so?) that used to be the O2 tox limit for commercial and military. I've supervised a guy working at 280 FSW on air for 120...

Mask Leaking due to facial hair??

A slight positive pressure in your mask prevents leaking- unless you have excessive forehead hair or swim upside down a lot. :D

    Divesafe??????

If you get bent in a remote location, will the doctor at the local chamber have training in dive injuries? If so , where did he get it? DiveSafe? PADI? If he doesn't, who's he gonna call? If we all buy DiveSafe and PADI will DAN still be there when we need them?

    I.D.E.A.

Hi Phislet, Just ask what the intermediate pressures are. If they're close (20psi or so) there shouldn't be a problem. A second stage really can't tell what brand of 1st stage is suppling it's IP. You may have a problem when it comes to "authorized" service getting both done at the same time.

    How Deep?

I hope you're just asking for research purposes. Lots of people have done it and not come back. Lots. So, for informational purposes only... As a commercial diver (surface supplied, hardhat) I've worked quite a bit as deep as 240fsw for 30-40 minutes. Narcosis is definitly a problem. As a...

    commercial diving women

Having been in the business I can tell you it is very difficult for women to break into the oilfield, salvage, or construction diving. The first thing you need is skills to use when you get down there. Diving is just a way for a skilled worker to do his (or her?) job. So maybe look at it from...
