That's the way I was taught. Two bungee loops on the bottom of my plate under the tank. I find that it works great. I might also mention that I am diving a B/P and wings.
Now don't get upset WreckWriter. I didn't mean to hang on it instead of using good bouyancy, but rather to use it for deco and if you or your buddy are having any problems it would be in your best interest for a bag with plenty of lift should it be needed. I also agree with cyklon_300 that the...
It is my understanding that you will use the lift bag to "hang" on during deco stops. You might not be the only one "hanging" on it. It could also be used if diving wet for emergency lift should your BC/Wings fail. You might get a better answer if this is posted under the technical diving forum...
I ordered two Halcyon tank straps from 5th Dimension last year for my 36lb pioneer wing and they came with a plastic buckle. I assume they had a problem with the plastic one breaking. If so, are they replacing them with SS?
Padipro:
Does this mean that you made a HID lighthead? If so, how hard and expensive was it versus the cost of buying one. Thanks for the info!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill
thanks FredT.
Since I havn't removed a valve from a tank, I wasn't aware that there was an O ring between the valve and the tank. You gave me the info I was looking for. I had a LDS do a visual on my tank and they changed out the Oring at the yoke connection and must have put in the skinny...
I need a new SPG and I am thinking about OMS or Dive Rite. I looked at Dive Rite and found that they are about $20 higher than OMS. Does anyone out there use any of these two? Should I spend the extra $ and get Dive Rite. Thanks
I am also looking for these parts. I have an ATX50 backup that is bright yellow. I would like to put it on a necklace around my neck but I don't think I should until I can change out the yellow cover to keep any confusion down. Surely someone knows how to best get these parts
Ok, I found all three s/n. On the TX100, 1st stg is on valve body. The 2nd stg is under the mouthpiece. You can see it by pulling the mouthpiece up and looking at the end without taking off the mouthpiece. The ATX50 octo is on the bottom edge of the housing.
TRUETEXAN
The only reason is that I don't have any more zip ties with me right now. Why cut off a brand new zip tie just to get a s/n for the warranty registration card. Doesn't that sound kind of funny to you? Why not sell it with the mouthpiece removed so you can fill out the card then...
I would hate to remove the mouthpiece since it is new, never wet. Why would they put it there? My ATX50 octo has it on the lower lip of the housing. I guess i'll have to take a look.
wheezy
Forget your octo for a moment. Does the ATX50 1st and 2nd stages both have s/n's on them or just the 1st stage? I got mine from an authorized dealer with all paperwork and factory boxes too.
BOOinTX
Since you purchased it on the WWW, you probably didn't get a warranty with it. This shouldn't be too much of a problem since the Apeks don't seem to have any problems. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe have it checked by a LDS and enjoy.
Funny you should ask that question. I am having the same problem with my TX100 2nd stage. My ATX50 octo has the s/n on the bottom edge of the housing. My TX100 1st stage has the s/n on the outside of the valve body. I am beginning to think that the s/n is the same for the 1st and 2nd stages...
