Tassie, thanks dude am movimg across to equipment.. dont know if i can get this thread across. Im diving dams and lakes, like i was saying to DSE... we are a bit behind in SA from a recreational diving point of view, regarding side scan and other great stuff. unless im just a bone head!

DSE! working dams / lakes, looking for stuff like outboard motors. bottom topography most likely mud with small amount on rock, max deph estimated at 40m. Going to move across to the equipment forum now...

Im diving in South Africa and have requests to recover lost items in local dams. what is the best equipment (economical please!) i should use. I am a DM with search & recovery, but know little about use of electronic equipment (side scan sonar) and whether it is effective. Please help!
