Yipee!! Thanks for the update!

Ughh. I haven't heard anything, but the plant manager at Mt. Storm asked us for a copy of the WV DNR dive flag regulations and anything else we could give him last week. I sent him an email, but never heard back. I'll see if I can't find out what's going on from my DNR buddies.

We were up there Saturday 6/25. It was 83 at the surface, and 81 at the 90' platform. Vis was typical for Mt. Storm. 6' - 8' at the 25' platforms. 3' - 4' at the 50' platform. The silt hadn't been stirred up at the 90' platform, so it was better than I had seen it in quite a while...

It might be worth contacting Adventure Sports Center in Deep Creek, MD. I heard a rumor they had some training there last year, but not positive.

I can usually make it in right around 60mins, but I've been driving those roads for 20 years. I used to spend most of my summers at Mt. Storm, and I got those windy mountain roads down pretty good. Just don't ask my wife about that as she is usually pretty car sick by the time we get there. :D

I live in Cumberland and I have never stayed up there unless camping, so I really can't recommend anything. I have stayed in the guest house at the Purple Fiddle in Thomas, WV, but it is what I'd call "rustic", if you know what I mean. I know there are several divers here that stay around that...

If you are going to stay overnight, Cumberland is kind of far away. There are a few hotels/motels in Davis or Thomas WV that are nice and only 20min drives away. As far as the dive flag, I just usually swim mine out to the buoy attached to the 25' platform and hook it on there before I start...

I have a mens size XLL(extra large long) Aqualung Aqua Flex 7mm full wetsuit for sale. I've gone dry, and have no need for it anymore. It's got around 10 fresh water dives on it, and it's in excellent condition. For sizing comparisons, I am 6'4" and 230lbs, and it fits great. Price is $150.00...

It depends on the weather. Usually it's kind of cloudy (3ft - 6ft) till you hit the thermocline which is around 20ft. After that it usually goes up to 10ft - 15ft. I have been there after a few days of rain, and it never gets any better than 5ft.

I have USCellular, and mine works in the parking lot..... most of the time.

I've dove both. I live about 45 mins from Mt. Storm, so I go there quite often, but if distance wasn't a factor, there is a lot more to see at Lake Rawlings.
