A Friend at work wants to get certified but has a "hang-up"!

Thank you all for replying. I don't understand his fear either. But let me say that he is not afraid of going into a creek or the ocean. He does know about chlorine in pools. As a matter of fact, one of my part time duties at work in the spring is to take care of the base pool. He knows what...

A Friend at work wants to get certified but has a "hang-up"!

A friend at work has been talking about getting scuba certified. His motive is because he wants to do the treasure hunting thing in 10-20 foot of water. He's big on hunting on land. I talked him through what a typical course involved and he confessed about his 'fear'. He's been in creeks, lakes...

    Curious, who has pet fish?

Well, I keep fish but not in a tank. I have an 1800 gal. pond right off of the deck with 30+ assorted goldfish in it. It's going on 9 years since I dug that hole in the ground. Steve

The wife wants to get away during the Christmas holidays. We're here in New Jersey. She was thinking North Carolina. I was thinking WATER! What's the weather like that time of year for wreck diving? Are boats running? But here's the catch...... The wife is a non-diver so we're looking for a...

    Watch at Dutch Springs

Sorry that I took so long to post but I just found this forum. On Aug. 15th I found a Casio watch on one of the training platforms on the peninsula side. The band was open so it must have come undone from the divers wrist.

    Using a different tank!

I usually dive with my HP 100's. I got a good deal on a LP95 last year and never dived it but it's about time. What should I expect weight wise when using this tank? Thanks, Steve

Got a good deal today, but how good?

Today was a good day. A co-worker who doesn't dive anymore gave me his O'Neill neoprene dry suit. I don't know the age but it looks to be in pretty good condition. On the sleeve is marked "XTS" Extreme Temperature Series 7/5 mm. The boots are molded onto the suit. I dive wet and don't know much...
