Evolution is not a linear process. It's more of shotgun process with an open choke. There is going to be a wide range of outcomes from which survival of the fit chooses.
I mainly shore dive. I drive myself to the locations where I meet partners. So...not worried about the ride out or back, or the common rinse buckets. The only way I'm catching covid from a dive partner is the unlikely event of my running out of air. Yes, it's unlikely, but not impossible. So...
Fear may be unreasoning, but fear can induce reasoning out how to handle the fear inducing sources.
From Pyschology Today website:
1. Fear is healthy.
Fear is hardwired in your brain, and for good reason: Neuroscientists have identified distinct networks that run from the depths of the limbic...
As many are saying about social distancing...they can tell people what to do, but they can't make them do it...in most cases.
I carry a pony now on every local dive. I wonder about doing that on Bonaire. Not that many pony tanks available there...maybe there should be.
It doesn't take much effort because the basis for your statistics is your opinion. And why limit ourselves to just death rates? And what about spreading the disease to other people outside of your dive partners.
And then the argument for a lack of covid transmissions due to air sharing. How...
Apparently, you are not up on the latest amendment to the constitution.
#28: Unregulated commerce, being necessary to the economy of a country that values money over life, the right of the people to spread infectious diseases, shall not be infringed.
"Statistically" insignificant risk....and you know this, how?
For anyone just showing up at a resort and being told not to donate a long hose, while their secondary is bungeed on their neck...yeah, it's a problem. But once you know what the new rules are, you can choose to either avoid that...
From the DAN article about Scuba Equipment and Covid-19:
"Studies on the SARS virus, called SARS-CoV-1 and the cause of an epidemic in 2003, have shown that it remained infectious for long periods in surface water (lakes, rivers, wetlands, etc.) and previously pasteurized sewage at both low and...
Sorry...since I'm king (remember), you will need to place your grill somewhere it won't be a hazard and won't set off one of the required smoke detectors. If you can't find a good spot...NO GRILL. There, that wasn't hard to solve now, was it?
No regulations that I'm familiar with...but I'm not a marine architect. I'm suggesting that putting separate smoke alarms in separate parts of a boat/ship that are not connected makes little sense. Either the alarm should be hearable in all parts of the boat, or there should be connected alarms...
Exactly. What happened to the smoke alarms? There should have been multiple alarms...and they should have been hooked up such that when one went off, they all went off. Either that, or make them so loud they could be heard everywhere. It appears that when the crew woke up/noticed the...
Going from land into the water at Salt Pier was a little tricky when I was there 2 years ago. Once you get past that transition zone, not a problem. Nukove was worse when I did that 9 years ago...tricky in the water because of the rock size underfoot.
If I remember, the entry at Nukove was tricky...rocky bottom made footing somewhat treacherous...is that still the case?
Playa Frans was not bad getting in...just had to find your way out to deeper water. I think we went south too, but maybe we tried north.
I used an older Sea & Sea Y-110a strobe with the Canon G7x ii in a Fantasea housing when diving in Florida last month. The S&S strobes have 3 positions.to move the on/off dial to when you turn it on. The first two are manual, the third is TTL. One of the manual positions would fire and match the...
