Hose has been dealt with. Wife and I both hate our consoles so we are going to wrist mounted computers, brass and glass spg, and a slate on a compass.
WTS x2 Slightly Used Consoles... =)
Possom Kingdom is supposed to be good. As is Lake Travis near Austin. Like KY, they can be dark, murky, and cold. At the minimum, I was suggest a small light even in daytime just incase you want to look under or inside something.
In Fort Worth, there is Lonestar SCUBA on 183 South of 30 and...
Call Extreme Sports Scuba out of Joplin MO or Lost Creek Marina on Beaver Lake in AR. Lost creek has a map of some dive sites on their website but I do not remember a bridge being on there.
I learned there is a house boat on the North side of Indian Creek this last weekend. Will have to go...
I did not do the initial assembly. I purchased it new from my LDS where it was assembled. Nothing was loose at this point. Dove with it, then discovered the loose hose after returning home. Called LDS about it. Tightened the hose, 1/8 turn past finger tight. Sounds like I need to do 1/4 turn.
Well, I guess its some consolation that my cold water diving promises to be with a FFM anyway. I need one of those and a dry suit anyway. Not much for the cold.
Here's a thought. What about an in-line shut off for each second stage in case of a free flow? at least you wouldn't loose gas that way.
The first time I thought it was a fluke. That maybe the tech that assembled it didn't torque it right. After my first day diving a brand new regulator, I discovered the hose going to my SPG/Console to be several turns loose at the 1st stage. To say this was a gut check holy crud moment what if...
There is a dive map on Lost Creek Marinas website for Beaver Lake. Most people I know go to the Indian Creek day use area or the park next to the dam. Get a hold of one of the local dive ships like C&J or Lost Creek. Not only can they tell you where, but probably set you up with a buddy...
All I ask is for them to return my investment on my dive gear which is now useless in the closest salt water and punitive damages of free gasoline for the remainder of my lifetime.
The Captain is the Captain yes....but
I have been a Firefighter for nine years. The Chief is the Chief. However, just that fact does not relieve him from responsibility should something go wrong and does not mean that he can just make up his own rules.
I can not imagine a licensed Captain...
Good job.
You know, we spend so much money on regulators, BC, lights...yet it seems like very few people carry more than one mask. Maybe carrying a spare mask (frameless of course) should be taught in open water.
