Yes, another Norte Sunday night into Monday and Tuesday. My guess is it will open later in the morning on Wednesday if then. That's okay because I arrive Wednesday afternoon and the rest of the week looks good.

Have been there more than a few times during Carnaval. Other than the increased traffic downtown and your dive master and boat captain could be hungover it shouldn't be a problem.

I just checked flights into Cancun and if I save any money, it's not worth the effort. Standing in line for the ferry is a pain and with the traffic who knows how long it will take to get to the airport. Last year it was taking people hours to get to Cancun airport and some had to walk to get there.

Money is no object, so I always fly into Cozumel. My bag drag days are long gone and with the increased traffic to and from the airport it's not worth the hassle. Now if one is looking to save a couple hundred bucks go for it but to me it's not worth the effort.

I have been on a boat were someone tipped 50 dollars a tank and he does it most times.

I have more money than I know what to with and I know these people. Plus, in the whole picture, it really is not that much. I gave 20 dollars a two-tank dive 25 years ago, so this is comparable.

It was 10 dollars a tank forever for me but I recently upped it to 20 per tank. Inflation.

There are several variations of this story floating around. It's my experience we will never know what really went down. This version doesn't make sense.

Nice report. I stayed at Casa del Mar the exact same time and dove the whole week but sadly didn't see the hammerhead. I really liked the hotel. Also, Casa Mission is way better then La Mission.
