Night dive? 2 torches
Dunno how you do it
I usually just leave my backups attached to the harness anyway, so they're always there.
Just adding my experience with the 5' vs 7'
The PDIS info should've been in the box that you bought your in.
Is governed by the leading tissue compartment, as richard posted.
If it's annoying you with beeps, confusing you on the display, or you just don't get it, then turn it off.
Throw in your own deep stop as half your max depth then...
5' works if you have nothing clipped off to the right dring, like a backup light. I find my 5' hose can get trapped under the head off the backup light and caught there, as the light is held down by inner tube.
I find 7' annoying when i don't have anything to route it under, if i'm not using a...
currently i have oms slipstreams
if i could try a pair of excellerating force fins i would, but there's no way i'd drop $400US on an experiment.
Obviously they were designed for frog kicking, but are they good for back kicking and helicopter turns etc etc.
:D
Did 60mins last night shallow (like 6 and half metres) and the brain cooperated. Got paranoid when i got home, but i'm sure that'll pass.
Finally saw my first spotted handfish! Great little creatures. Also saw the biggest occy i've come across... he started to get a bit fidgety, so i gave...
25C is bloody tropical! I'd do that nude... not that anyone really wants that.
I'm off for a beach dive/skills dive tonight to see if my head is settled for diving again. here's hoping i don't convince myself i'm bent after 20minutes shallower than 10metres!
i always liked the idea of force fins, the size, weight and ability to wander around in them
i just have concerns as to how the perform with frog kicking while reasonably gear laden (twins, drysuit etc).
they look similar to splits in that the most effecient kick in them is flutter instead of...
Let me preface by saying that i'm totally not an expert on anything diving... actually anything at all, so take whatever i say with a grain of salt. I'm only commenting on my experiences (limited as they are).
On my zeagle plate (that a mate has on permanent loan) i didn't have a backplate pad...
i use a stainless backplate with a halcyon evolve 30 wing for twin 7's.
I think (think!) an empty 12L faber is negative by 1.5lbs roughly, whereas twin 300 7's are about 4.5lbs negative empty roughly.
So i guess (guess!) you'll drop 6lbs+ depending on your setup.
Which BP/W are you using?
I...
Certainly a weight difference between twin 232 7's and 300 7's, but there's a shedload of difference between 232 12's and 300 7's. Even full, i don't find the 300 7's heavy at all, in fact the whole setup weighs about the same as my singles rig when you add on the weight i need for a singles...
Nah, the leak is coming from somewhere around the seal. I'll have to pressure test it myself and see where it is.
I basically got the 7's for redundancy as well (they're manifolded).
I can't really comment on the 50m stuff as i haven't done that, but there's plenty around that have and do. Ask...
Sas - definately give the 300bar 7's a look, especially being a chick i'm assuming you use almost no air.
BoP - good info and ideas. i'll have to see how i go.
i also need to find where my drysuit is leaking in the left arm... brand new, made to measure suit from the UK and it blood leaked...
