Hey, what a co-inki-dink .... I'm heading to Coz this weekend too, Sarah!! ;-)
Now if I could just find time to pack before the flight tomorrow morning!!!!!!
But it's not really just about dollars to some people. And it's not just about warranty, although that is a part of it (especially after hearing horror stories of problems people have had in the past). You're trying to make this seem so cut and dry, but it's not.
Not that I'm saying this happens all the time, but let's say there's a recall on the product (which does happen from time to time) and I purchased mine from a grey market dealer ... well I'm out $375, because the manufacturer will not warrantee those items.
I will buy other items ... ones I...
AquaLung does not consider someone an "Authorized Dealer" that will actually ship their products to people who purchase online. Check out Aqua Lung's website. And the BC I purchased was AquaLung, so that's what we're talking about, since you said I paid to much for my AquaLung BC.
Ok, so from the PM you sent me, I see that the price I paid is not really overpriced at all, since I purchased my BC from an authorized AquaLung dealer. I'd rather pay a little more and get the full manufacturer's warranty on something as important as a BC. You can't compare pricing when...
Well, now that I asked all of you, perhaps I should say what I ended up buying.
I decided to go for the Oceanic Pro Plus 2 with the compass and quick disconnect feature. My reasons ...
1. BIG screen (easier for my "gettin' older" eyes to see)
2. Air integrated (I like that I don't have...
I decided to go with the Aqua Lung Diva XLT with the Air Source Inflator with integrated backup regulator. Since I dive mostly on vacation I decided to go with a BC that weighs less, since packing was an issue. I also liked the ability to add on the integrated backup regulator, so I could...
Tell ya what, RAWalker ... if it bugs you that much ... redo the chart yourself, then.
There's always gotta be one person in the crowd that's gotta complain!
It's interesting, most people seem to not use an air integrated model. Do you think this is because of the expense or that it may be a newer option? (not sure if it is a newer option or not, so nobody jump down my throat if it's been around for years and years!)
I'm not absolutely sure about this, so don't quote me ... but I seem to remember my LDS saying that although the 500 psi is standard, you could override it on (and again, don't quote me, because I'm not sure of this) the Oceanic Pro Plus II.
