Key Largo Trip Report - Cajun Invasion

I do on occasion make seafood gumbo, but only when I can acquire fresh Louisiana Vermillion Bay Shrimp, Atchafalaya fresh water blue point crabs and salty Cameron Oysters----the Okra however can come from anywhere:wink::yeahbaby:

    The eyes of the storm

When you get it remember me, I excel at tool box carrying, passing wrenches to the mechanic and traversing the flight line filling buckets of prop wash!

Driving from Texas to the Yucatan

Made the drive from Brownsville down to the Belize border, but that was in the 1970's, but with present conditions I would not attempt such a trip.

    Fishing charter in Roatan?

By the way arew+4, don't know how old your kids are, but if they go out with Gary and get a Marlin on, dancing across the water on its tail they will be hooked (pun intended) for life. Hooked my first one in the Gulf of Mexico (Louisiana) over 45 years ago and it's still the same thrill today.

    Fishing charter in Roatan?

Those horror stories are just why I recommended Aqua Adventures which has been in business for many years and runs a quality operation at both Media Luna Resort and Las Rocas. In addition to running a first class dive operation supervised by Mirta, husband Gary is a well renowned fishing guide...

Group Trip - Tres Pelicanos/Casa Mexicana

I can't imagine a simpler, better planned method. Simply contact Jeanie (dive@trespelicanos.com) and she is more than happy to answer any questions you might have. In OUR case, we found out their boats are licensed to carry 10 divers each, so we capped our group at 10 well qualified divers...

Group Trip - Tres Pelicanos/Casa Mexicana

We are not internet gurus - just log on to check messages a couple of times a day. So far we have found the service flawless. It's really a nice hotel, the buffet breakfast is good, and we are REALLY enjoying exploring the area and finding new restaurants to eat at each day. Cozumel is a...

Group Trip - Tres Pelicanos/Casa Mexicana

You should recruit a group of California dive buddies and charter the boat...groups are the way to go. I capped ours at 10 so we would have our own boat and we're enjoying the benefits of choosing our own dive sites and walking across the street to the pier. Booking with Tres Pelicanos has...

    Political unrest?

No curfew on the Bay Islands, no impact on the Bay Islands, just a problem in some areas on the mainland. Wish I hadn't just left, otherwise I would escape this cold snap and head down to Roatan in a heartbeat.

on line AUCTION for Clinica Esperanza

Yes, no doubt, the clinic has for years provided valuable and necessary help for the people of Roatan. Just was wondering about her because for so long the clinic and Nurse Peggy were synonymous, she being such an inspiration and driving force behind the clinic.

    Political unrest?

We were there during the election also and no problem. There is constantly "political unrest" in Honduras. We were there also the week Mel was removed from the presidency in the coup/non-coup and had no unpleasant experiences on the island. Of course, I can't guarantee you that nothing will...

    Dec 2/2017 airport closed? rain!

We got out yesterday without a problem with the airport. Was fun however getting from the east end of the Island (Media Luna) over the washed out roads, potholes you could disappear in and dodging the bulldozer moving the fallen trees off the roadway
