Thanks - this thread just answered my exact same question. Did my OW last month in a quarry, and was pondering travelling to the coast for my AOW. But for the same cash and completing AOW at the coast, I can do the course inland, and still have money to travel to the coast for 3 dives at Aliwal...
Told you I was hooked - did my OW last month, and just signed up for my AOW next month, followed immediately by a trip to Aliwal Shoal for some more diving. Only one problem I've noticed - I don't get to dive enough. Gonna have to make a plan to sort that out.
Thanks for the heads up about the Mosquito being fond of not working properly. I'll go see what else is available for a decent price at my LDS. Will post further queries if I find others not already mentioned. Thanks to all for the tips.
My brother also recently bought the mosquito and is very happy with it. Haven't met anyone yet who is familiar with the Mares Nemo Sport, so it looks like the Mosquito is the winner. The pricing on the Mosquito is quite impressive anyway. btw none of my LDS's seem to stock the Oceanic Geo, so...
I wear glasses, but decided to get contact lenses for diving. I have had no problem with them at all - including all the pool session removing and flooding of masks. I just open my eyes very slightly - enough to see where I am, but not enough to lose the lens. Works perfectly form me.
Hi. Looking to buy my 1st dive computer and my LDS has a good deal on the Suunto Mosquito and the Mares Nemo Sport. Any suggestions on which one is better? Buying the fancier ones like the Suunto D6, D9, etc... is not an option financially.

Completed my PADI Open Water Diver course last week. Definitely found my favourite hobby of all time. Loved it! Already planning my next trip to the coast (Aliwal Shoal) to log up more dives.
