    Dive bag zippers.

Just took several of my old dive bags out of storage. Two of them had stuck zippers. I am thinking it is probably salt but I am not 100% certain. I tried blasting them with fresh water with no luck. I tried silicone lubricant with no luck. Any suggestions?

    Returning to SB diver

I recently took the DSO and Marine Operations Manager position at FSU. It's great to be back in the...

E-Mail Notifications with my AOL E-Mail Account

I have been away from Scubaboard for a few months and am glad to be back. When I was on the board in the past, I received emails notifying if anyone replied to a thread to which I was subscribed. It appears as if this email notification feature has been disabled. I checked my settings and the...

    Galileo Memory erase?

I have someone who is interested in buying my Galileo computer (I prefer diving with my Air Z Nitrox) but he had an interesting request--he wants me to delete all the dives I have in memory (I guess he wants the logbook to be reflective of only his dive profiles). Will removing the battery for...

Today is a bittersweet day for me. After three years of owning and operating my dive shop, today is my last day as owner and operator. Stainless tubing vs copper?

Yesterday my compressor (Bauer Mariner II) developed a pinhole leak in the 3/8 inch stainless steel tubing that goes into the oil and water separator. My third stage pressure will not go higher than 2800 psi with the leak, and it is slow to get there. I am on a very remote island in the...

Not dive related, but interesting none-the-less

Mods, if you think this doesn't fit in this forum, please move it to the appropriate place. It seems like another boater (in this case kayaker) was bitten by a barracuda in the boat. I´ve read about this happening a few times and I am always amazed how the media plays it up to look like the...

    New type of hoses?

Perhaps being on a remote tropical island has kept me out of the gear innovation loop, but I recently had two divers come into my shop with a new (for me anyhow) type of hose for their regulators and consoles. They appeared to be made out of a woven material, were extremely lightweight, and very...
