Interesting Problem with new transmitter and Galileo Sol dive computer

Just a follow up in case someone reads this when they face the problem in the future. I upgraded to the latest firmware, but it did not resolve the problem. I also tried resetting all the settings. No luck. Transmitter and computer going back to ScubaPro. They say they have never seen this...

    Warranty Service ?

How do you see it as much less expensive???? Last time I sent something in, I was charge the shipping costs by my LDS. Plus then you have to wait until the LDS gets around to shipping it for you. If I can take care of it myself, why involve a third party.

I will. Leaving this Friday to dive all weekend. So I should know in about 48 hours ;-) Tempted to go find someone with a pool and go sit on the bottom for a bit with a tank and the computer ;-) I did upgrade the firmware to 1.6 (from 1.4).

Interesting Problem with new transmitter and Galileo Sol dive computer

Good idea. I have not tried a new battery!!!! Thanks. As for why the new transmitter. Worst reason of all. Bunch of dive give was stolen. Computer was safe, but the original transmitter was one of the many items lost.

Interesting Problem with new transmitter and Galileo Sol dive computer

Man... we are the same mental page;-) I had the same idea. But my air consumption was actually very good for the dive. Slightly better then average then on my normal day (must have been thinking happy thoughts). So that rules out a air leak. Plus to get the numbers I was getting... it...

Interesting Problem with new transmitter and Galileo Sol dive computer

Hatel - Could not agree with you more. It is very weird that the new transmitter "could be" involved in the problem. That is what has me scratching my head. I half expected when I downloaded my dive to Smart Trak to see a lot of gaps in the PSI readings... but nope... clean as a whistle...

Interesting Problem with new transmitter and Galileo Sol dive computer

I've been diving the Galileo since 2007... Approaching 400 dives on it. LOVE IT. But had to buy a new transmitter a few weeks ago. Noticed the new ones are slightly different. Dove it for the first time today, worked great, expect for RBT (remaining bottom time). It was WAY off. Keep...

    LBTS during the winter

The wife and I "discovered" the joys of LBTS this past summer. We got a good half dozen dives in before August, but have not been back since. We really enjoyed the calm conditions. We had flat seas everytime and at least 20+ feet of viz. How is LBTS in Jan through March??? We would like to...

Anyone Dive LBTS this weekend (7/11)???

Thinking about running down on Tuesday. Was wondering how the conditions were? Viz was so-so out a little deeper and the water was LOADED with jelly fish.

Anyone hear of Central Florida Diver Death on 11/14/08?

I don't disagree. That is one of the things that has me scratching my head. I don't pretend to know exactly what happened down there. Where both tanks full when he jumped in??? Was there a problem with one of the tanks??? Did he have an equipment malfunction down there???? The only thing I...

Anyone hear of Central Florida Diver Death on 11/14/08?

I don't want to get into too many details, but here are some facts. Site: Area 51 - First dive of the day Depth: Top of the ledge at about 75 feet When: Problem occurred early in the dive (approx. 10 minutes) Diver made it back to the surface, but almost immediately descended again...

    best KLEIN Bonaire dive(s)

Just got back. Best Kline site of the week was Carl's Hill. Very beautiful structure and has more stepper slope to it then most of Bonaire's sites.

    Good report from Leisurepro

I personally prefer to deal with Larry at Scuba Toys, but like you the few times I have dealt with LP, I didn't have any problems. I know I returned a mask once to them - no questions asked.

How do you log your dives?

Try scubase sofware. EXCELLENT product. It does everything I could ask of it and MORE. I believe they have a 30 day trial. http://www.scubase.net/

Hydro Atlantic and other deep wrecks without Tech training

There are a lot of people who do this dive on air. The top of the Hydro is only 150. With that said, this is an ADVANCED dive and should not be approached unless you know what you are doing. As for charters... no, I don't know anyone that will take you out without a) appropriate...

    depths you use Nitrox...

I agree that O2 is much more likely to kill you if you have an incident that getting bent from Nitrogen. Unless you have a good buddy, a CNS hit will most likey take you out. At least with the bends, you are on the surface. It can still kill you in severe cases (i.e., the Rouses come to...
